    I would like to make another rooom if possible. Maybe another Room for a seige spot that would be more round and have a different theme.

    And my brother wants to make a hallway or two that leads to one of the rooms if thats ok with you guys.

    So yeah if you need another room I'll do it.

    Mind if i ask some things? I'm 'new' to the old hammer. I know how to complie and test maps and how to make almost anything with the Half Life 2 hammer but i don't know with this hammer. Could anyone tell me how to complie / test maps / how to make glass (If you have to just use entities or something) and such, i think i know most of it but if i could just be told how to complie and test it i could find out for myself. Thx!

    Ok, never mind about compile and testing. I figured out how now (After correcting about 40 errors) Could anyone point me to some tutorials for what i said above?

    Whoa! thx Lagarto, that'll do.

    I think the read room is closing on completion if you want to see it (The BMP or Hammer file) I'm almost happy with it.

    Okay, the deal.

    As far as people making rooms and hallways go, I don't mind contributions at all, but like I said before:

    ALL ENTRIES HAVE TO BE APPROVED BY THE ENTIRE MAPPING TEAM

    Right now, the team cosists of myself, Irish_Pirate, Slayer of Hippies, and xtc. Donat seems like he's interested, so he'll probably be a member soon.

    EVERYONE ELSE IN THE COMMUNITY IS FREE TO MAKE ANY PORTION OF THE MAP THEY WANT but be advised that the above statement will cover your entry. If ONE person doesn't like it or thinks it doesn't fit the scheme, then it's not in.

    Bare in mind that we will not just reject entries and forget about them. We realize that it's taking people time out of their every day lives to make these things for us, and every contribution will be reviewed extensively, but if something just won't fit, or for some reason we don't like it for this map, it won't be placed in the map.

    Yea i'm interested, I will probly end up changing or fooling around with readroom textures if you don't like them. I have all my textures down, after skimming all those tutorials (thx lagarto) I now just have to get some "Join Marine" and so on to pop up, as well as some other stuff. Tutorials defintly helped thou, and feel free to tell me the textures suck when i show them to you I don't know exactly the look of some parts of the map, but i 'like' them.

    I also have an idea for a double if you guys plan/want one. I'm just coming in here mid-production so i just need to get myself up to speed soon

    EDIT: any MSN messanger or time i can catch you yer mom? Your not on TS always so i was wondering if ya had any messangers and such.

    I have MSN. I'll PM you my address. I'm wrapped in school a bit, so I'm trying to stay away from Hammer for a while, and TS always gets me involved in Hammer, so I've decided to stay away from it for a bit.

    My Xfire is open to the public. It's yermom. Add me if you wnat, I normally keep it on.

    The double in my map is going to be the direct center. It's going to be an enormous cafeteria with 4 entrances. As far as contributions for it go, I was planning on doing it myself as soon as I got to it, but it's going to be quite a while before I get to it.

    I'm havin trouble with the lighting, i have lights, and i've made sure fullbright is off, but they arn't working. I even have a low set light_enviorment to limit the light but it is still 'fullbright'ish. Any one have any ideas? Its 3 AM here so i'm gonna sleep on it and relook at tutorials in the morning. looks alot better thou since i un-unitextured it.

    Make sure you've completely surrounded your map with a box without holes (made of brushes). If you don't have that your map will 'leak' to the "void" and lots of things won't work. Also make sure you're compiling with rad and vis on.

    I know it has no leaks, i've checked and the complier told me so.

    And aha, for some odd reason, Rad and Vis when i complie are off... now THAT makes sense, now its gonna build a lightmap. Thx Slayer, would have taken me forever to find that out on my own.

    I started making a hallway, since you guys said you wanted some hallways. I worked on it for a couple of hours, but haven't compiled it yet. If you wanna see pictures just click on the link below. I wanted to save space on this thread. Let me know what you think...
