Halflife wad and NS
When i first thought of using it i was under the impression that players would have to download half-life.wad when we made the map (if we used halflife.wad)... Is this not true? because i got rid of it, but i was able to run XTC's map with brush clips fine, and Irsh told me that steam you type in and it magicly pulls from half life...
So i'm basicly asking is, can we use halflife wad when mapping for NS and it won't effect the download size or anything? |

You can use halflife.wad.
It's magic. All you have to do is believe. But seriously no one will have to download it or anything, they already have it as half-life needs to be installed to run NS. Like if you have ever seen the co_blackmesa maps they just took the textures from half-life. You can use models, sprites and sounds too. |

half-life.wad is compressed into the half-life.gcf file in your SteamApps folder. You can use the file without any problems. You can use Nem's GCFScape to retrieve half-life.wad, or pm me for a direct download.
