Because I don't play often enough to know the maps, I cannot multitask to save my life, and I'm so slow/hesitant with orders that it's useless and irritating to my team. I started a thread once before about it: the only way I could use the comm chair is as someone building, supporting, and supplying information to a field marine calling all the shots. The very last time I tried, I think poor Wintermute wanted to strangle me; we had aliens building inside our spawn in the first 2 minutes (a sensory and several OCs) and we never made it more than 100 "feet" outside our base. I think I'll stick to Starcraft and being an NS grunt.

No worries Psi. I've told you guys before I'm never asking for sympathy or reassurance in these forums, just explaining what goes on in my head. I'm telling you why I'm as hesitant as anyone else at taking the chair, despite the fact that as a bad shot it makes a lot of sense to have me safely up in the sky playing mommy. Keep me on the ground I need & want the practice.

You aren't a bad shot, Go to the public servers, Most of the people there are bad shots, but not you, I have seen much worse, and them, I'd call bad. You may not be the best, but there is definitly a good amount of people I'd take secondary to you. As for you not wanting to comm, that's fine, Alot of people just would rather not, you don't have to explain yourself =)

In the COMM chair (what I was referring to)?

    Wyzcrak

I only started playing as a comm in 2.0. Big B was refering to me playing on TG server since june. Tanith and eclipse are the only 2 maps im comfortable being a COMM, so far

    ..

I think we have many people on our server who have the potential to be excellent comms. The problem nowadays seems to be that the server is empty. I dont know where everyone has been lately, but there havent been any descent games to my recollection.

Schoolwork, 2.1, and other games. It will pick up again soon enough.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

Good question. Wyz suddenly thinks he's a beta tester, Emanon thinks he's an admin for another game, and Proximae thinks he's too good for us.

    Where is everyone?

I understand people have been busy, I have been myself, but still its not hard to free up an hour or two (at least for those of us who don't sleep). The server has had very little activity. Hopefully some good games will happen this weekend.

Here's to an early winter for those of you in the cold parts of the country.

Here's to an extended summer for those of you in Memphis. 82 is the high tomorrow.

BTW, I'll be out of town most of Saturday and Sunday.
