    View Problem.

Ok guys, i figured this would be the place to ask, so here ya have it.
My NS is kinda wacky. As you can see in the screenshot i posted at (i dont have 15 posts yet, so please copy and paste) liquidskye.com/images2/SS1.jpg... i cant see my cursor or the scoreboard really because its all in black. Now, when i'm in game, it turns green for active players, but i still have no cursor and anyone in the RR is still black All icons for players on the board are always black and yeah, you get the drift.
Also, in CO games, i cant see the exp bar either, its all black.
I'm running a Radeon 9600 Pro on XP Pro x64 edition and have all the correct and updated drivers (as of about 15 mins ago). I've tried OpenGL, software and D3D modes and its the same in all of them, regardless of resolution or color depth. Vsync is off and AA is set to the appropriate settings. I get 0 choke and no framelag even in uber-intense situations.
If anyone has any insight, please let me know.
    Thanks-
    -CFM

    EDIT:
Oh, and about every 5 seconds i get a message on the screen that says "Display doesnt support downloadable gamma". Any clues?

x64 edition... maybe its a bug on the 64bit OS...

But anyways, I would completely uninstall any trace of ATI stuff with this:

    http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.html

Try uninstalling the drivers first with the uninstall program, then run this, then reboot.

Don't let windows install your driver after you reboot.

Try to run NS in software mode and see if you still get it then post back.

edit: NS general forums would have been better since more people see it.

Did you try running clean install of your drivers after that?

Taurus, you rock! gammaramp was already set to 1, so when i changed it to 0, it fixed the whole problem...and NS got a whole hell of a lot brighter too! I can actually see skulks in *dim* hallways as opposed to running blind. Thanks for the help everyone!

Ah. I once set it to 0 and that caused pretty much the same problem for me as you had with it at 1. The differance is that you're on xp64 and i use xp32..

    From the ns 3.1 changelog:

O Added the ability to toggle off NS's gamma ramp:
    - Added setting to the advanced options menu: "Enable gamma ramp"
    - cvar is cl_gammaramp
    - default is 'on' (1)
    - Turning this to off will disable the forced gamma ramp. This should allow players on 64-bit systems and others who recieve "downloadable gamma not supported" errors to bypass the problem and set their gamma and color options via their video drivers.
