NS2.jpg?
I read in #naturalselection that BrigadierWolf is now creating models for NS2. So, I went to look at some of his files.
I have no idea what this image means, or if it's relevant to the future of NS, but.... whoa...

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

Re: NS2.jpg?
Why is it today I can buy an automatic shotgun for like $200. Yet, in the future when humanity is in grave danger and fighting for it's very survival: all they give the poor marines is your standard Mossberg pump action with a spread shot to all high Hell?
PS: I don't like the new pistol model. And we all know it's the best weapon in the game.

Re: NS2.jpg?
So, the new lmg model is an MP5K with a little done on the top?
I hear ya Fenix, the Mossberg 500 is actually better than the current marine shotty. Not to mention the Glock-18 is full auto and fires underwater. Even still, its a balanced game and shooting shouldn't involve that kind of thinking

Much better gun.
For the Shadowrunner on the go: the Ingram Smartgun features a barrel-mounted Improved Gas-venting recoil reduction system, integrated Smartgun Link, as well as Semi-Automatic, Burst-Fire, and Fully-Automatic firing modes.

Re: NS2.jpg?
The pump action is for reliability, and as for fire rate I guarantee that I can squeeze off 5 with my Remington 870 than you can with any automatic. The 870 is tried and true. The marine core has always used it for its extreme reliability. Most semi-automatic weapons have to be meticulously cleaned and maintained which is not possible on the battlefield. The draw back to the pump action is its relatively slow reload time, as comparable to a clip fed semi-auto. I guess it depends on individual philosophy but I want my firearm to always shoot, I’m not going to need to reload fast because my enemy will already be dead.
BTW, a jamming feature added to the lmg + hmg would be cool based on a small percentage chance factored along with prolonged periods of rapid fire / time in the field.
IE: HMG equipped marine shoots 2 full clips of ammo, after reloading immediately and getting back on the trigger it would jam.

Re: NS2.jpg?
That would most CERTAINLY not be cool. NS strives for drama, but at least it has sense enough to know that there's such thing as too much reality.

Re: NS2.jpg?
Not that attrition is concerned with reload times, since his enemy is already dead. heh.
