Neverwinter Nights: Alive and Kicking!

Hey guys. I just got around to perusing this corner of the forums and was excited to see a NWN section! Too bad it's dusty and cobwebby...
In any case, even though it's not terribly "tactical", NWN1 still has a living and interesting player base and a few choice multiplayer servers to chose from.
There are more "tactical" servers, like Antiworld Capture the Flag which focuses on teamwork and high-level builds, and also features a re-leveling system if you want to change your build or edit it!
There are also very healthy roleplaying servers for those of you who take an interest to telling stories through the online medium. I would like to mention what I consider one of the best of these story servers: Escape from the Underdark. It's a low-level, low-magic server that is focused on its persistent world features, very active players who drive the course of events, superb Dungeon Master quests and plots, and the formation of fictional characters as one might do while writing a novel or other work of fiction. I've spent two years with the people on this server, on and off, and learned quite a bit about myself through creating dynamic characters and interacting with those of others. It's hard to put into words everything that's available to you if you play at a place like this for a while, but I've found it rather fulfilling.
I just thought that if anybody still has their copy of NWN1 (and the expansions) they might like to give them a go for old times sake or out of boredom. There's a lot of new stuff to be gleaned from this sturdy little game, and the servers I mentioned don't even require custom content! ps - They're releasing a final patch for NWN1 soon which will serve as a free mini-expansion to the game, with new tilesets, ridable horses, and fancy new scripts.

pps - New & Used at Amazon for as low as five bucks! Boy. (Diamond comes with all expansions.)

Careful, that $5 dollar copy does not come with a cd key.

I played PvP for a long time on the Bastions of War server. I was known by the login name directrealist and the player name I used most often was godless. I never got into the antiword ctf.

I am a DM at Bastions of War still, but have not played in over a year.

Neverwinter Nights 2 is more fun to me, and the online and expansion are nice too.
