It's back up. It is a bit flakey but I'm working on the issue. Hopefully they'll fix the stability issues in the next patch. Prior to that patch, the server was actually quite stable.

Diplomacy is the art of saying "good doggie" while looking for a bigger stick.

We (paranoid, clodhopper, prophenti and myself) broke it again tonight.
Not an issue with the server, deffinantly a game bug this time (proph logged in, was controlling paranoid's char for a bit, logged off and the game went into a loop and crashed)

Yeah...very odd. Looks like there was some data corruption as well. There were problems with the NPC characters' stats, completed quests were not showing up (but apparently were still working) and a few other minor issues.
Again, not blaming this on the server...maybe just the data that we were transferring to and from the host that did this part.|TG-9th| Prophaniti

Yeah, we lost the journal progress again. Nothing we can do about it from the player side because that's all stored Server side, and nobody other than Apo can save/load games. So basically it lets us keep our character progression (because we export to local machines), but the NPC's lose everything, and we have to start from scratch based on which module is loaded. Not a huge deal, seeing as there is only the one group of us playing actively atm, but it could cause problems if more start up.
Only way around it that I can think of is somebody has to be given the server admin password for inside NWN2 (not access to the machine itself in any way, just admin for in the game). That should allow whoever has it to load/save games. Each group could have it's own saved game to work off of. It's not ideal, but the client-side server management system for the game is pretty bad like that.
Would also mean that saved games owuld be generated on the CE machine, and I don't know what kind of space that would use or how much a problem that would be, but if you're only giving the PW out to say 1 long-standing SM per each group, barring abuse that I don't really see happening (since the server is passworded for only TG members anyway) it could be kept managable.
*shrugs* A thought, anyway.

Couple things of note for when a server crashes: To avoid the NPC level bug, re-recruit them at the original locations. The game then thinks they've just joined your party, which always immediately promotes them to the leader's current level.
Also, for the guys I've been playing with the last few days, I have the item that will let us into blacklake, so we don't have to do OOW over again. I'll probably be on sometime around 7-8PM to put it into use.
Assuming the server doesn't crash again, I re-recruited Neeshka, Grobnar and Kelgar. If you want to grab the others, Elanee will join when you leave for the docks district from Highcliff. Casavaris will require you take the OOW quest through the bonegnasher cave, and Qara I believe requires that you complete as far as the guard sweep in neverwinter (2nd quest in the Caleb line)
So long as you start the first quest in the current module, you can go back and do whatever you want afaik. without dropping the game back a module. But please log off in the farthest current module, so that if the server crashes, it doesn't come back up loading a previous module. (Not sure if this would happen or not)

In my experience, besides the unstableness, NWN2 coop play leaves a lot to be desired. All the forced pausing during dialogs is infuriating, like when I'm browsing a store's inventory or managing my own. It gets really bad when I'm in the middle of a fight.
Personally, I'd wait for a more MP oriented module to come out.

We blasted the server into oblivion again.
As I mentioned in my previous post, the only luck anybody had in omline Story Coop was with creating saved games that helped deal with the inevitable crashes.
Otherwise it's too unstable to run regular groups on until a persistant world mod shows up.
That being said, I (like Proph) will probably still play it regularily.

Actually I all I did was join internet game then sorted the list out alphabetically and used the password to get in. Should be in the story list by the way.
