Mogul was working in China for the last few months and only returned last week. We'll get back to work on it this week and will be able to reach a final up or down within a few days.
I have retuned my friends! To keep it short and sweet, I've been doing quite a bit of globe trotting and have most recently completed a major software upgrade for my employer that will see patentship. I've just been busy as hell. I will be resuming work on this project tonight, updates will follow.
Was able to complete multiple successful tests of the automated hosting system tonight. Will be building a basic short rotation of maps for the next round of testing. Could use another 2-3 people around 2345 central US for some additional testing if anyone wants to jump in on this. I'll be in TS.
We just finished a series of 5 rotations of 4 maps each back to back with no failure using the Automated Hosting System. Players reported no game-play issues on behalf of the hosting process.
The AHS is very polished at this point but the challenge is to circumvent a server OS and run the script in a virtual environment and we are finally getting some movement in that direction. Stay tuned for further development.
This is great news! I have really missed playing OFP-DR! I had all but given up on its resurrection, but thanks to OGMogul and LpBronco, it looks like OFP might be making a big return. I guess I should reinstall the game since I uninstalled it several months ago.
Menu optioning is complete minus map selection. Due to a variety of reasons the AHS requires the game to be ran in windowed mode. Default configuration is for 800x600 windowed, however I could code in optioning for additional resolutions. To keep workload to a minimum as we get close to release, what additional resolutions (2 or 3) should be included in the optioning if any? I have no problems saying "If you want it to work, do it this way," but I'm trying to consider flexibility. Thoughts?
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
