How-to: Start a Hardcore Campaign
I finally was able to figure out how to start a campaign in hardcore mode. The menu is a little misleading, so here's how.
You select Multiplayer, then Campaign. On that screen, the difficulty will be greyed out, in normal difficulty mode. Once you click "Start Campaign", you don't actually launch into the campaign however. Instead, you're greeted with another screen where you Select Campaign!
The Select Campaign screen only has one campaign for now, as nobody's dug into the mission editor yet. Above the "Dragon Rising" campaign, you can see a toggle for difficulty. Select hardcore there, and then you start the campaign.

Sorry I meant to post something to this effect last night after I got done, but I forgot to.
Whats the Deal with the tiny sig limit?

If only people would play hardcore mode online. I just checked and all the coop servers are running 'normal' or 'experienced' mode

If you start one up people will join up pretty quick. Also servers that are in game will not show in the list afaik, so it's just a matter of when you check it.

I've got a hardcore campaign up to mission 3 saved right now. we could play if you want. It just sucks because most of the time i start that one up i get people without mics or just drop out after they die because they ran infront of my SAW.

Quick question since my game isn't in yet : It's possible to play SP on Hardcore immediately, right?
If I have to beat normal/experienced to play the mode I want to then :/

Yep, any game-type, any difficulty... only thing you have to 'unlock' are the missions.

You can also have campaign saves of multiple modes. Just use separate save slots. I have one for my hardcore campaign and one for my experienced campaign.

The only thing that annoys me about it is that you can't see your firing rate without bringing up the weapon menu. You also don't hear a 'click' like you do in most games when you switch firing mode.

My copy should get here within a few hours but I'm really glad to hear you can play hardcore from the get go. I haven't really felt the want to do anything but hardcore ;D
