How-to: OFP Multiplayer (aka TvT, PvP) for dummies
In addition to the single-player and 4-player coop game-modes, OFP: DR also features two "MP" modes. There are only two areas on the island ("maps") used for these modes, but there is a lot of potential with the editor. If you haven't played these modes yet, here's a quick overview:
Note: we'll be updating this thread with more info/better pics as we get them. If you have a better picture of any of the maps, post here and we'll update this first post. Also let us know if you spot any factual errors or have any more helpful information we can add!!
GENERAL INFO- Any slots not filled by players are filled with AI-controlled soldiers.
- After dying, players respawn on the Fireteam leader (if he's alive) or back at the staging area (if he's not). Respawns are conditionally available depending on how it's setup by the server host:
- Unlimited - No cap on respawns
- Limited - Players respawn into available AI-controlled soldiers. If no AI are alive, then no respawn is available
- None - No respawns.
- Chain of Commmand:
- The smallest unit is the Fireteam (FT), which holds 5 players including a Fireteam Leader (FTL)
- Five FT's make up a "Squad"
- Four Squads comprise a "Platoon"
- For games with less than [TBD] players, a "Platoon Command Team" is unavailable. In this case, there is no heirarchy in comms, and in-game VOIP works across the entire Squad.
- For games with more than [TBD] players, a "Platoon Command Team" is available, with Squad Leader and Platoon-leader positions available. The Platoon-Leader is analogous to the 'commander' in the BFx series.
GAME MODE: INFILTRATIONIn Infiltration maps, the PLA team defends an objective, while USMC tries to destroy it with explosives. Here, the teams (and tactics) are asymmetrical: USMC has superior weapons (advanced optics), while PLA starts with a 2:1 player advantage.GAME MODE: ANNIHILATION

Re: How-to: OFP Multiplayer (aka TvT, PvP) for dummies
Hey WhiskeySix, I'm currently making a 'Flashpoint Multiplayer Guide' and came across this, would I be able to use some of this info and pics in my downloadable guide? (I will give you credit and a link to the site if you let me)
It will include some tactics for both game modes (drawn on a map if you let me use your maps)
Maybe we could work together and make it the ultimate guide?

Sounds great! Let's collaborate on the tactics - I'm sure there are people here with ideas to share! Maybe we can use the forums here for putting together ideas and then once we've developed good content, we can compile it all as a single downloadable guide?
