AI Controls?
Wow..anyone else having issues with commandign thier squad..Like them just wandering off into battle without you. I mean..I grab some cover but they seem to think that it's a free for all.. I also find it difficult, using the DEFAULT command scheme, to control the Individual teammates.. And Why oh Why isn't there a "HEAL ME" single key...So I don't have to mess with multiple keystrokes to get a medic to my location.. Or an Auto Heal.. When one of your guys is hit..the Medic does his thing.. Do they really have to tell the medic to help a guy out in battle? (in real life)
So Far I am not feeling it.. Very linear..Ghost Recon 2 type game play.. except more open.. I just wonder if this is a GamePad designed game.. ?|TG|ARMA Pathfinder

Re: Controls?
The command-radial is definitely clunky and clearly built for a controller D-pad. I hope they change it the upcoming patch. Sorry I can't help with the AI controls - I've only played with real people thus far... maybe someone else can help

Re: Controls?
There are some quirks to it and I am sure some updates will help. One thing I have noticed when commanding AI on a mission is when you use the "move marker" to create a waypoint they may not keep up with you. I found that happening a lot.
Seems like the AI will get "distracted" for lack of a better description with other AI or whatever.
One remedy was to use the "move fast" command and they seemed to make a beeline to my position. I have started to use the "follow me" more as they seem to stick with you better.
As for defending in one area, I used that on Mission 3 at the village and when I ordered "defend", it issued the order as defend in this grid coordinate, not defend within x meters of me at all times. Again, with distractions, their focus was not always the same as mine when it came to who to kill first. Admittedly, in that situation I was not barking out specific "assault" orders on where I wanted them to focus.
This will be a good collaborative discussion to figure out what is best because there are situations where you need them to do something in a more specific area.|TG-12th| jb4

Re: Controls?
Funny you mention Mission 3 in the village.. That's where I started Banging my head off a wall.. Sometimes the AI run off into the field to assault after I have placed them at a location.. Sometimes they watch one direction only, and the frekin medic thinks he is Rambo.. YOU DO US NO GOOD DEAD AI MEDIC!!! (at that point I MF'ed the game)..

Re: Controls?
While playing yesterday with one other person I was having a bit of trouble getting the AI medic to heal the other human player. It turns out that I had both AI selected to issue orders to in the map, number 3 and 4. After tinkering with it a bit I found that if I gave a heal order while I had both AI selected it will not work. As soon as I went into the map and selected just the medic it executed the order perfectly, unfortunately he bled out by then. It happened when issuing orders by both the command radial and right clicking the map when more than one team member was selected. It's kind of annoying but at least the medic isn't completely broken.

Re: Controls?
Oh man, my guys were "defend" patrolling all around me while I was at the mounted gun covering the south road after enemy assaults from the south, east and west and just as I thought the mission was ending I got shot in the back from another AI about 10 feet behind me. Game Over. I am going to try some different orders to see if I can keep them in tighter formation or at least covering my back...

I constantly use the "Follow Me" command.
JB4, the OPFOR targets that stationary gun pretty well.

Re: AI Controls?
You don't have to pre-select the medic.
Just right click on your "dots" one by one and when you have found the injured soldier (the dot should be different to indicate whose injured, but it's not) the option comes up to "heal soldier". Left click on the dialog box and your medic will obey.
The problem I have is the stupid s.o.b. medic can be standing right over me while I'm critically shot doing the "Floppy Tuna" and he does NOTHING. You can't access the map to tell him to fix you. You just lay there waiting to bleed out.

Re: AI Controls?
hello,
if you are down you can still bring up the radial menu with q and call for a medic (it's the only order you can give).
Also if you press caps-lock on the map screen you get a better command menu.

Re: AI Controls?
Ive been using PilFIus! voice recognition and it works pretty well controlling the AI. Way easier than stumbling through the quick command menu.

Re: AI Controls?
One thing that isnt in the manual. You can chain waypoints and commands on the map by pressing and hold on left shift. You can use this to do some quite clever stuff
