Team vs Team ("MP") - how does it work?
So many of us haven't played it yet - help fill in the blanks here?
1) Is there a "commander" type position that can order around other fireteams?
2) If so, does he also have his own fireteam to control?
3) How does VOIP work? Can fireteam leaders talk to their squad AND the "commander"?

Yes, there is a Senior Officer with Platoon Leader positions in the hierarchy but it does not appear to be active yet. When I tried to join it said unavailable.
Also, looks like it won't be active until over 20 players per side are supported.
2) If so, does he also have his own fireteam to control?
Once active I would assume so.
3) How does VOIP work? Can fireteam leaders talk to their squad AND the "commander"
Again, another assumption, but I would imagine you may be able to highlight someone under your command for orders and voip.
When you start a multiplayer game you are forced into the first squad, but you can right click to go to a different one or change in the hierarchy. I had already minimized it here.

Here is what the Platoon Command Team looks like:

Re: Team vs Team ("MP") - how does it work?
I had the chance to play in a 32 player infiltration round. Aside from being laggy as all get out the Platoon leader position was available so I gave it a run as nobody else seemed to want it.
The CO can issue orders to subordinate fire team leaders either via the command radial or with the map. So you can issue different move commands to the FTL's and they in turn can order the fire team members individually. Supposedly only the CO's are only supposed to talk to the FTL's with VON and the FTL's can talk to both the CO and individual fire team members. The individual members of the fire team are just grunts relying on others to relay information.
If the CO can hunker down it's almost like an RTS.
If we get dedicated servers this could be a lot of fun.

The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors: they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men.

Re: Team vs Team ("MP") - how does it work?
Got my first MP game in last night. Was pretty rough being on a team with no mic's, but I did learn something:
When you first get in the server, you're assigned a squad by default. You can pick from one of the four positions in that squad (medic, FTL, etc). If you hit ESC, you can then press left and right to switch squads. If you hit ESC again, you can be part of the 'command' squad, which has the 'commander' position.

Yeah, but people keep trying to use in game voip, it's just to low quality and garbled right now on a listen server. So I stick to TS right now. I haven't experienced any lag, that I noticed. The netcode seems to be alright in this case.
