I just want to crouch... ):
A bit of a technical question. Can I bind the 'Start' key to crouch? I have a mac keyboard and it's impossible to comfortably use 'Control'.

There's a key binding option. Just browse the menu a bit and you'll find it.

Hmmm. Are you talking about 'Keyboard Setup'? I tried that with no luck.

As in you can't change them at all? Or it just didn't recognize that one key?
To change a command, click it, and it will turn to a " ? "... then press the key you want to reassign it to.

Thanks for the additional help. I can confirm that I have already done that. It registers the change but minimizes the game at the same time. I wonder if it happens in-game...

No good. Even though it is set in the keyboard settings area, it still minimizes to the desktop when I press the Start button. Hmmm, I have a feeling I may be forced to play this game without crouching ):

There's always the other FPS variant of using C for crouch, or the tactical game variant of z x c being prone crouch standing

I've always used 'C' for crouch as well. I've never been comfortable with left control for crouch. So it's just a lot easier for me to have C for crouch.

Yeah whats up with L+CTRL as default crouch in games.. the C key seems so much easier with "AWDS" controls.

@Acreo Aeneas: I certainly am on a mac but I boot up in XP so the 'Apple' key becomes the 'Start' Key. It's possible to completely deactivate the key but this still means that I can't use it to crouch.
@HSoga: I would assume L+CTRL is default for crouch in games to keep the the thumb free for the space bar and the index finger free for left strafe and reaching for all other options.
My reason for wanting to use the 'Start/Apple' key is that it is in a perfect ergonomic position for my thumb as well as being right next to the space bar.
This may sound fussy but I've used this for almost 2 years in 2142 and when I use any other keys including 'c' (the best alternative so far) my hand transforms into some sort of claw!

as there's no jumping in the game, maybe consider using space for crouch?

Hmmm, sounds like the best compromise to me. Although I can see myself trying to crouch when an enemy appears in 2142 but instead I bounce up in the air like a dirty, bunny-hopping noob! (:

Oh and by the way:
I managed to deliver 2 of the 3 pieces of armour on the 3rd(?) mission with no crouch so hopefully things will get a little easier from now. Originally Posted by WhiskeySix
