After the Initial Rush
We have 75 players on our soldiers list but I'm only seeing 6 or 7 of these in game. Have I missed something? We've been trying the in game match making and while there are a few of the expected "stats 'hores" most of the players are attempting to play the game. I realize that the absence of ded ser's is a problem but I'm not having that many issues pre-patch to justify the lack of participation. The command structure is a bit clunky and not being able to issue orders on the fly or change weapons on the move slightly annoying but these are not as evident in a PvP game.
JB4 has fostered a relationship with Eraser that is bringing new content as its being created and CM has given us a time period for release of the patch so what else do we need to do to help maintain interest in this?

Re: After the Initial Rush
I am definitely up for "hosting" another 32 player match on my fiber connection. I'm home just about every night EST, so whatever works for the community is fine with me.

Re: After the Initial Rush
Let's schedule a scrim! Nothing too formal/fancy - lets just pick a time and date for a big battle! We'll draw up some teams ahead of time and appoint PL/FTL's... then teams can do up some simple tactics/plans for the map!

Re: After the Initial Rush
I am still game for playing. I haven't been on lately as I am a big Phillies fan and have been watching them recently. But I am still interested in the game.
btw, the best tactical game type, imho, is to do infiltration with limited respawns. what do you guys think?
if Miles isn't around, I can also host 32 people. I have about 5MB upload.Last edited by lacisghost; 10-30-2009 at 03:23 PM. Reason: added some thougts...

Re: After the Initial Rush
Maybe you can make some videos when you do have such an event (with 32 players).
From my play time of about 10 hours online with this game, I dont have any interest to return to it, unless I see ALOT of improvements. I suspect alot of other TG players may have simular opinion.
Showing video of what the gameplay can be like would go long way to convincing players (like myself) to come back to try again.
Just an opinion...

Re: After the Initial Rush
Last night was pretty fun. What did we have 5 of us together? Very good start. Miles hosting was ok. The INCOLDBLOODCLAN was ok. I had a few issues with glitching moving weapons and either I am sometimes an incompetant shooter and sometimes a complete marksmen, or I had problems with bullet register on one map.

Re: After the Initial Rush
That is a fair assessment as things do need to be fixed/patched. I agree, more videos of TG style play (with game improvements, of course) will help. To your point, we were joined last night by General Bastard who fit right in because he was looking for the type of tactical play he saw on a TG Youtube video (guessing Silver's teamwork video). There will definitely be a need to reach out to others who may have put the game down while waiting for some key fixes.
Last night was fun. For me, it makes all the difference if you have other like-minded people to play with and have a good time. For whatever reason I was having my share of similar issues.
The hit detection seems to get worse at times. Last night someone in channel said they saw me take a shot right in the helmet (during Miles' game) and I did not go down. Boot was healing me at the time, but still, I should have died. Later, I was playing Chokepoint on a server with Jolliet Jake and the whole game seemed like I was watching AI shoot each other from 20 yards away and each guy would have a cloud of blood mist around them and would not go down. It seems extreme, either really good or really bad hit detection. That needs to be fixed up front along with some of the other obvious things.
On a positive note, enjoyed trying to complete hardcore mission 10 (night ops to destroy armor and AA under a time limit) a few times during the night in different games with LpBronco, Boot, General Bastard, Aumen and Jolliet Jake. Finally killed the AA threat, jumped in a chopper transport to the next objective and flew my fireteam directly into a swarm of enemy AA. Tried evasive action and on a right bank turn, I clipped a tree and barrel-rolled the helicopter into a firery ball of death. <face turns red> DOH.
Try, try again.
For me, hardcore coop mode is fun with other TG players and I do not notice the early game flaws as much. Multiplayer seems to bring more of them out. I have really enjoyed playing the FWF maps and that variety has kept me interested. Only problem is that they are not widespread beyond TG and a few other places yet and it is hard to create or join a game with a lot of players so you have to be creative with map selection and spawn limits. I believe some of the obvious things will get fixed, some faster than others, but improvements will be made. For now, the fun is what you make it.|TG-12th| jb4

Re: After the Initial Rush
I watched the bullet ricochet off the side of his helmet, thank you Kevlar.
I'm not sure if he should have died but he definitely would have had a headache. I occasionally can't drop an adversary with the m16 unless I change positions and get closer or change the angles but I repeat that the problems are annoyances and not game breakers. The hardcore campaign missions with fellow TGers make compelling action and the multiplayer has been fun with groups of my brothers working together. Putting the game away until a later date is just going to keep you behind the learning curve and guarantee you miss out on the fun.

Re: After the Initial Rush
I've enjoyed the game so far, especially the few times I played a hardcore TG coop. Lately I've been busy with work and watching the world series, otherwise I'd play more.
The game may not be perfect but it is pretty darn enjoyable for me and definitely worth the money I spent on it.

Re: After the Initial Rush
I only notice this in pubbie MP with high pings, and earlier tonight put 17 rounds into the face of a bot at 100m with an M21 before he went down. The server was in Korea and the average ping was ~280 including mine, so it wasn't surprising. But anything low ping I don't see the issue. Most body shots are going to take several hits, which is believable as both sides have standard body armor; and when aiming high I can often get a headshot even with M16s and drop 'em with one.
Tonight we played a great coop round that must have taken an hour and a half or two hours. Even though we got a glitch at the end it was an intense, action packed game session. Like any game, the difference is who you play with: So come play with us!|TG-12th| Boot
