I'm sorry but this is BS (patch/missions)
Well at least it was free for PC gamers... but come on... that released patch and 2 freckin, poorly made, missions, and 2 MP maps for OFP DR is pure BS... and a slap in the face from Codemasters... all the hype about how they are going to support this game like no other... all BS.
The patch fixes very little, and practically NONE of the game play killing bugs and issues.
The 2 FTE missions are a joke, poorly done... I myself could of done better... and at least 100 others have made missions 10x better.
and then the 2 new MP maps... SWEET, but they haven't fixed anyone of the game killing MP bugs to make it worth playing... hit detection is still way to screwed up to even bother with MP.
All BS... and to think I payed 400 points for the 360 add-on pack... Codemasters is in contention with Activision for my choice of crappy'est Publisher of the year...
Absolutely BS.

Re: I'm sorry but this is BS (patch/missions)
I patched the game but haven't played it since. After reading through the so called fix list, my motivation to play this game was completely gone.
Got as far as booting up the game, then checked my friends list only to find out that none of the +-25 friends I have were online...
This game is dead already.

Re: I'm sorry but this is BS (patch/missions)
I don't agree with this assessment. Lag issues with the MP are radically different (to the good), hit box registration is much better maybe because of first, game load times have improved because the splash screens no longer cycle and at 1/4 gb for a 1st patch for "simple" fixes a reasonable first effort that has made the game much more playable for those of us who are actually playing.
The new maps do seem to have the console players more in mind (the 35 map pack Magnum made available does help make his case) but additional content is continuing to be made available and Eraser Head made a pre-release available to JB last night.
I agree that further work is needed but that it fails to live up to your expectations may mean your expectations may need to be adjusted. There has been an active group every night this week so if your friends are not playing maybe you need to expand your friends list.

I just don't get the general sense of negativity in the community. If you're not enjoying the game, enjoy the company you keep in the game. Jump on TS and play with us. We've been having fun all week, TG style!

Re: I'm sorry but this is BS (patch/missions)
To be fair I think they've definitely stuck to their word thus far in supporting this game. Now whether or not they meet expectations is subjective, but releasing a patch this large on top of new missions this quickly, is very, very rare. So either way I think you have to give them some kudos for putting forth the type of effort that they did with this pack.
Personally I still stand behind the gameplay being great, and it's even better with the patch now. But, the bigger problem still remains in the setup of the MP system. You can't download user created maps, no deds, no options for the AI online, etc. Once they fix/add those things they're really going to have a great title on their hands IMO. One that blows out the competition.

Re: I'm sorry but this is BS (patch/missions)
I found lag worse with the new patch. I haven't been able to complete a game since the patch.
I feel your pain Magnum, I was one of the early supporters of this game, but gradually lost hope as CM reveal the true game behind the hype.
I've already set my sights on Battlefield 3. Unlike OPDR, it will be a functioning multi-player arcade shooter. Then if PR gets it...

I cannot think of any game where a correct update of a patch would drop your FPS in half intentionally. What do you think is the problem?
What are your system specs? DVD or Steam installation? EDIT: Did the patch reset your video settings?

I am running the following:
Intel i7 920 @ 3.8mhz
Asus p6t deluxe
12 gigs ocz reaper 1866 ddr3
bfg nvidia 8800gtx oc2
before the patch I was in the 200's fir my fps. Today I installed the patch and it was running in the 60's!?!?!? I'll have to recheck the video settings but even if changed, it shouldn't affect my framerate that much

Wow, your rig is way better than mine (e6600 and 8800gts). I don't have any overclock and notice this game runs hot to begin with. Maybe try to clock it back to stock? My game runs smooth as butter at stock speeds, even when I host.

With that rig you should be crushing it. I get 60 fps with a Core Duo 6850 3.0 @ 3.3 with 2x 8800GT. Try the patch again or reinstall/patch. Sounds like something got off track there.

Re: I'm sorry but this is BS (patch/missions)
from 200 to 60 fps sounds to me like VSYNC got turned on limiting your FPS to your monitor refresh rate. Try checking you graphics card settings and set vsync to "Always Off"
