Agreed, the decision to not have dedicated servers was made a long time ago, and they were covering up the info until after sales were made... also you can read about a ton of other lies from the developement cycle, there was alot of misinformation and hype going on, especially about the history of the team and the original OFP, which BIS called them out on it.

I think the game is great, but they lied about the dedicated servers. So I will be returning the game Monday morning, as everyone should to send the Devs a message. Theres plenty of other games to play.

That petition won't achieve a thing and once again the hardcore gamers are victim of the mainstream gamers. Games that were made big on pc are now moving to console in a dumbed down version...

I agree technology has gotten more complicated in the last years, but there 's also more tools to support it like the internet and open bčtas. It 's really no excuse to release games in an unfinished state.
Yes but these sales are based on the PC gamer's experience of MW1 which had DS. Once people play MW2 and realize this change MW3 PC sales will not be the same.

It is all about sales and consoles is where the sales are, so porting to pc with nothing added cost them nothing and squeezes out maybe another million in sales. Its all good... for them. We pc gamers may end up with some independent games but the big guys have left us in the dust.

    Re: Damage Control

The engine is really promising and the game beautiful, so it's really sad they didn't support it with dedicated servers. But maybe they'll give it join in progress at least?

Anyway it seems to be a new trend that the PC versions will be console ports since that where the majority of sales come from, so i guess we have to start making the best of it. And support the games that are proper PC versions in a big big way.
