    Slow down

I've logged a 100+ hours in the game since launch and I want to encourage those that haven't found this exactly matches their expectations to take another look.

One of the things I've noted in the public games I've played is a "rush to contact" mentality that doesn't play to the games strength. The team dynamics really call for a more team oriented approach - recon, infantry, armor, support - that lets you slow down and move in a coordinated manner that really brings out the games best features. We have a core group that uses more advanced tactics when we go host raiding and I've seen the more tactical approach succeed again and again. I've played ArmA and like it but this lets me experience that type of combat scenario without having to dig latrines.

    Re: Slow down

I actually noticed this even just playing through the single player mission on the demo last night. The first couple times, I went into it with my BF2142 mentality, and failed miserably. So I took a chill pill, slowed down, holed up to scout ahead, used my intel, and ended up making it all the way through the mission with hardly a scratch on myself or any of my men.

Just got this myself. I took a screenshot of the terrain, paused and studied at my leisure. I guess a real team insertion would spend some time studying their maps.

Carefully using terrain cover and advantage the entire experience took on another aspect altogether. See here.
