Dynamic Campaign on Server #2

I set up a new dynamic campaign on the OFP COOP server last night. It got fairly decent reviews and only requires a couple small add-ons that are quickly downloaded through OFP Watch. I haven't been able to test it yet, but would love to get any feedback if anyone has a chance to try it out during the day today.

I have also tweaked the OFP Watch add-ons list and removed anything that I don't think is actually required for the missions and campaigns we are running. Jex is trying to pick up the Gulf of Aden campaign that was used over at GR.net a while back which WILL require a pretty hefty download (around 280MB) but from what I gather is WELL worth it.

MFCTI is set up on the OFP CTI server and fully operational. I tested that out yesterday and it's working perfectly. It would be great to set up a weekly/bi-weekly CTI event. CTI is a great environment in which to play TvT as well as Co-Op, so we should be able to have quite a bit of fun with that.

The servers should be pretty well tweaked for performance, but once we get into some hardcore games I will be able to figure out if any lingering problems exist and work on getting them resolved.

If anyone has any Co-Op mission suggestions, campaign suggestions, or anything along those lines, please post them here and I'll see what I can do about getting them added!

Re: Dynamic Campaign on Server #2

Great, thanks for setting it up.

The one feature I hope AA and/or OFP2 adds is an option to join active games. I seemed to miss the start of every game tonight lol

My hours are a bit off though

Re: Dynamic Campaign on Server #2

Do you have any website for the dynamic campaign you have running? Just was looking for some info to read up on it. I havnt played flashpoint in a long time and just wanted to read up on the mods you have installed. Thanks

Also, with this OFPWatch, it downloads what is running on the server, does that mean i could then play these mods in SP? Seems to download a lot of pbo files, i assume they go in the addon folder?

Re: Dynamic Campaign on Server #2

I actually can't get the dynamic campaign to work properly on the server. I'll have to play with it a bit over the weekend and see what I can get resolved.

As for OFPWatch.. It does download the required addons for you from the server, and they are all installed in the addons folder so you can use them in SP mode without a problem.

Re: Dynamic Campaign on Server #2

I was just checking out the CTI server... incredible... was having alot of fun, low crawling and flanking enemy armor and engaging... also checked out that cool team cam where you can watch from satellite view or ground view, zoom in and out...sweet... felt like I was watching that scene from "Sun of all fears" when the satellite view watch them take out the terrorist camp in the desert.

Any information, or web site on this mode of play (CTI) really like to learn more about it and see what it does. Like I could see that we had a HQ, then a barracks... ect ect... so it seems to follow a pattern of play.

Thx for the server and any info on the CTI mode of play.

Re: Dynamic Campaign on Server #2

Hardtale and I were just on the CTI server, he explained most too me.. pretty cool...

We captured about 6 towns, and finally got heavy armor when I had to leave...

I just can't believe that no ones been able to make a work-a-round for joining in after start... it really is a pain to wait considering some may be on the server for hours... hope thats address in AA and OFP2.

But great game today Hardtale. Maybe next time we'll have more.

Re: Dynamic Campaign on Server #2

Yeah, enjoyed it a lot Mag and look forward to next time.

Here is the online manual for it: http://mfcti.sourceforge.net/MFCTIIn...tructions.html

Maybe see if Apophis can enable some of the server side options like Fast Game (which I think increases income and base build time) ...at least until we can get more people playing.

Re: Dynamic Campaign on Server #2

Forgot to mention I'm getting a missing file when I join that I cant seem to locate "config.bin/cfgweapons_jam_rpd". Doesnt seem to cause any probs but I cant seem to find it anywhere and OFP shows as everything matching.

Update: I think it might be from different versions of JAM going on. Noticed that the one I DL'd from OFPwatch that the TG uses appears to be an older version that what I had.

While looking up info on it I noticed there is a new version that just came out dated 8/25/2005. http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?showthis=8810

Guess I'll have to play around to get them straightened out as I dont like coming into the server with a mismatch message due to this: http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq...igmodified.htm

Hoping the file didnt get corrupted somehow as it would really blow to do a full re-install.

Re: Dynamic Campaign on Server #2

Same with me...missing file:
No entry "config.bin/cfg vehicle vdv officer"

but appears to be no problem in game.

Re: Dynamic Campaign on Server #2

I did a test install of the JAM3 pack and this seems to have resolved the issue with the midding/outdated file. I'm going to push this update over to the normal OFP CTI server later on tonight. After..

Well.. After the ECP/CTI event that spontaneously is firing off at 2000 EDT.

One of the coolest features that I'm drooling over in AA is join-in-progress. CTI games will be so easy to play when it comes out!

Now that *is* great news, even next to all the goodness AA promises.

Re: Dynamic Campaign on Server #2

Server 2 is running CO-Op missions. There are no currently active dynamic campaigns due to technical / "I haven't figured it out yet" issues.

Server 1 is back to CTI without the ECP mod.
