It has been my unfortunate experience to encounter blatant racism in the online game world. Sure, like most gamers, I have seen racist remarks and racist names during my many mammoth gaming sessions playing a variety of first-person shooters and simulations. Unfortunately as of late I have had to feel the sting of racism in my personal life.

An online gaming squad known as the Virtual Fighting Faction chose racism over compassion by allowing known racist gamers to continue to play in their affiliation and by actually turning their backs on the people who try to cleanse their “club” of racists.

Many of the members claim to be Christians and have strong feelings of faith. I ask you this: how can one claim to be Christian and be a prejudiced racist? I don’t understand how they can reconcile their supposed belief systems with the hatred and evil that they propagate! Does the word hypocrisy mean anything?

How would you feel if you had a bi-racial daughter and your supposed friend of 20+ years took the side of a racist after that racist attacked you personally on the internet and called you a “ni**er lover?” I can tell you how I feel. I feel like crap. I have lost a friend to the dark side and I don’t think I will be able to forgive this incident. My daughter means more to me than some make-believe game. I will not condone or tolerate hatred of this sort. I have determined to keep my child away from this person and their family (most are racists also) and teach her that real evil does exist. I can even show her the house where it’s allies live.

Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here.
