Visual Quality Tips
I posted this on BI Forums. If you had the same problem and if this helps you to resolve it, you will be amazed when you see the result.
My current settings
1024x768x32
4XAA 8XAF
DXDLL (no postprocessing)
- terrain detail: normal
- visual detail: 7.0
- difficulty settings: crosshair, radio comm text, etc disabled
-----------------
Remember that AA makes a HUGE difference in terms of visual quality of the game. I disabled DXDLL postprocessing from the config to use 4xAA.
Also, for a long time I had a problem with flashing texture edges and I didnt know how to correct it.
I changed my resolution to 1024x768 last night (from 1280x960) and VA LA ! No more flashing and perfect AA !
The difference between no AA and 4X is incredible.
The game + mods (DXDLL, FFUR, Y2K3...) look beautiful now...Last edited by John CANavar; 12-30-2005 at 07:18 PM.

Cool. I played when it first came out and was very unhappy with the graphics (It looked like crap) and dropped the game. Perhaps ill try again with the mods you suggest.

Re: Visual Quality Tips
also remember the animatons, scripts, units, maps and landscape, buildings, etc... the original game would be dead by without the huge community support. that is what makes OFP a great game; developer + community...

Re: Visual Quality Tips
Any tips on making the dxdll reflections work better? I've got a 3500+, 1G ram and a 6600 gt and whenever I enable reflections it goes from 70fps to about 15. Don't know if I'm missing something or if my system just aint fast enough.
