Game Club: January 15, 2006
If you've seen the front page, then you know that the first game of the Tactical Gamer Game Club will be Operation Flashpoint.
http://www.tacticalgamer.com/tactica...game-club.html
Magnum or I will be admining, depending on who gets there first.
For those of you that are new to the game, the server information is here:
http://www.tacticalgamer.com/operati...formation.html
and the password here:
http://www.tacticalgamer.com/operati...-password.html
Game time will be 9:00 PM EDT, maybe 9:30 PM EDT realistically once everyone gets on TS, connected, etc.
The first game, to get reacclimated, will be CO-OP.
All Game Club members will assume to be synced with the server prior to the event, and idling in the OFP server channel prior to 9:00PM.
Note that once the game starts, you cannot join until the round is over, so timeliness and preparedness are key to your enjoyment of this first outing.

Re: Game Club: January 15, 2006
I'm in, and was testing my connection today.
FYI... Once I installed the FFUR mods, when ever I joined the co-op server via OFPwatch it would kick me to desktop...
Through try and error, I found out that I could still connect to OFPwatch and make sure all my add-ons were sync'ed with TG server... then exit OFPwatch, then join via direct IP... I no longer had the boot to desktop.
So check your connect to the server FIRST, before Sunday night... I don't want us spending an hour plus waiting for everyone to get the proper add-on's downloaded and installed, (which is what OFPwatch does automatically.)
If we keep the current mission to do first... then it's taking out a stopped convoy with a T72 and a bunch of infantry... timing and surprise is the key... we need to get close enough for the AT gunners to take the first shot and take out there armor, (after the tank is taken out another BMP full of troops arrives... The AT gunners needed to be ready to take him out as soon as he arrives, preferably while the troops are still inside.)
Then the rest of the team moves in for the infantry kills... then the mission continues to a base to take out.
(Consider this a op order/op briefing.
)
SO... listen to the damn leader... it's NOT a run and gun, AT guys should move in close and take first shot while the inf units support and flank... get in a good position and KILL!)
This is just my opinion/advise... not a demand... never said I was leader, just throwing out coordination ideas.Magnum

Re: Game Club: January 15, 2006
Its been a while since I've played this. With all the versions of OFP, would someone confirm which version to play? The basic is OFP:Cold War Crisis, latest version is 1.46. Is that what's up to play?

It'll be OFP Resistance that we're running. You should download "OFPwatch" here:

Oops. I should have asked earlier. I don't have that one. Is that what you guys will run next month? If so, then I'll try to get a copy before then.

Re: Game Club: January 15, 2006
I am so bummed that I missed this. I was out of town during the day and got home just shortly before this was going to kick off. Needless to say, I was too wiped out to game. I'm so sorry I didn't get to join up.
I hope it was a good time though. I look forward to the next time OFP rotates around (though, I'm also looking forward to the next Game Club selections until then).
