FFUR 2006 mod released!

Sweet....been waiting.

http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bi...4;t=48906;st=0

about:
The FFUR 2006 Total Conversion Pack uses the very best of community addons to turn the Cold War blistering hot in the new century. All 1985 technologies are replaced with cutting edge Russian Federation and US Military technology. FFUR 2006 features a new GUI, Mission Editor layout a modification pack based on FFUR effects.

The new and far improved FFUR 2006 features a totally new gaming experience, and a new OFP. all new units, and reduced lag are all new enhancements for this version and much, much more is included. All the addons now fit perfectly into the current era and theme, so you can get a realistic and authentic OFP experience, just as BIS intended it to be...

On top of that, the FFUR 2006 now has not one but 2 configs, one for the single player aspect of the game, and another one for the multiplayer side

Hundreds of man hours and huge effort were spent creating this modification, scouring it for bugs, and killing them as well. The beta testers exerted a huge amount of effort in making this possible and it's safe to say that it was indeed worth it. From everyone at the FFUR team, we hope you'll enjoy these modifications as much as we enjoyed making them.

Main contents:

New realistic Game play Aspect enhancements. (Ammunitions, AI, loadouts..etc)

New Visual improvement Aspects, and a updated set of new and improved models.

Very Realistic Sounds and New Music soundtracks.

New Animations with the addition of a new death anim.

New Interfaces and new mission editor GUI.

Effects done the most realistic possible way, featuring the ability to blow up turrets.

New lighting and reflection effects.

Several new extra additions (ACU soldiers, BTR-80, M82, OSV-96...).

The added Ability of playing online with a MP config.

All bugs and other issues fixed.

All addons have been decompressed to further reduce lag and frame rate difficulties.

Only relevant and required P3D models and textures have been retained for the FFUR 2006.

More Detailed informations are included in the Readme

Installation Instructions:
The installation is very easy, but if you still have difficulty then here is a guide: At first make sure you installed correctly the patch 1.96 from BIS then make sure you deleted the previous FFUR 2005 version from your 'Operation Flashpoint' folder. Then simply run the executable from the location you saved it and follow the instructions. When the installer starts, you will be told to select the location for the install. This should be correct without you changing anything, but in a small number of cases this is wrong. Depending on the version you bought of Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis
And that's about it! The files will begin to install and soon you will be playing FFUR Modern Crisis

Installed and I had time to check out one mission. Just the standard Clean Sweep mission. Wow, lots of changes, looks great. Can't wait to see the rest of the changes later.

Yeah, I've noticed this too. Seems like they added bullet spread. Even with a 4x sight, I still need several shots to take down a target.

Re: FFUR 2006 mod released!

also, I down-loaded the FFUR Sky pack.rar file. Anyone know how and where to install this pack. Inside the .rar are 2 folders named (1)Llauma + effects, inside this has a BIN folder/w/ cpbo.exe & newdata folder, and a install.bat file. (2) Folder contains, Module + effects folder, /bin folder/cpbo.exe & new data folder & install.bat......No instructions on where to put these or how to install them.......any experience or help would be appreciated.

Re: FFUR 2006 mod released!

First you have to make a decision which one you want to install; Llauma or Module. Both look great but I think Module looks a bit better.

Then extract BIN folder newdata folder, and install.bat file of the package you selected directly into the FFUR 2006 folder under your OFP game directory. Then run the install.

Enjoy ! FFUR is breathtaking, it is is like a totally new game...

Another great thing about FFUR 2006 is its multiplayer support. I contacted Apo to see if we can install it on our server.

Is this worthwhile the download? I have just started using the new WGL mod and it is really good.

Re: FFUR 2006 mod released!

Definitely Shiz!

The FFUR team basically takes the best mods/addons and incorporates everything into a single package. Probably the best looking mod out there...although the Finnish Defense Force mod (FDF) is also a great looking mod. FDF comes with its own campaign, though...so that makes it a worthwhile download as well.

FFUR 2006 is due for an extensive update pretty soon, with multiplayer enhancements I believe. Give it a go...you won't be dissappointed!
