That's Nat Geo stuff right there. Beautiful pictures. You can just see the power of that bird through each of those shots.

Re: eagle vs fox

Eagles are scary, scary creatures up close. Majestic...and scary. I volunteered at a raptor rescue center in college, and let me tell you, the three non-flighted bald eagles we had were some of the scariest birds we had. They would not hesitate to charge a human. In fact, I had one chase me around its exhibit one day while we were trying to get him crated up for the night.

Also on the mean list: barn owls. Spiteful little bastards...

Anyhow, those are beautiful pictures! I have a friend in Montana, and he's gotten some really awesome landscape and wildlife pictures up there. Thanks for sharing!

Re: eagle vs fox

Eagle's are so beautiful, in fact all birds of prey are. I like the smaller ones like Kestrels or Falcons. If ever you get the chance to do a falconry course/lesson, then do it- it is so much fun and kinda scary when a huge bird with one inch long talons flies up and perches on your wrist.
Cool pics, is that a dead animal they are fighting over?

Add pissed-off house cats. I'd not made the connection before, but I know how scary my cat was when she freaked out a couple weeks ago. (Long story.) Scared the crap out of me. And she's tiny. I wouldn't want something eagle-sized that pissed at me. (Fortunately the snit wore off and now she thinks I'm the best thing since perforated bread. What, your bread's not perforated? You must not have left it on the counter long enough! )
