My desktop wallpaper changes every hour when I'm on my computer. I'm using John's Background Switcher and a bunch of RSS links to www.DeviantArt.com gallerys.

Highly recommended if you like variety in your background.

You can do that in Windows 7 too, you can choose as many wallpapers as you want, and set how long it stays on each and save it as a theme. It's pretty cool.

The Marathon Trilogy was made by Bungie for the Mac many years ago, the same fellas responsible for the Halo and Myst series. It was a FPS made around the same time as Doom, but far superior in almost everyday, but likewise complicated in the story and design. I'm a fan of both games, but Marathon has a lot more atmosphere.

It's available for free (on all OS) and fairly easy to run, if you need help just give a holler.
