Re: Peace and guns....
My wife would kill me if I didn't take the camera! It's going to be a blast. My kid has never been to a range before. He'll like it.

Re: Peace and guns....
I just bought a junior set for my wife with smaller ear muffs and glasses for $30 at Gart Bros. Do you have those in AZ?

Never heard of Gart Bros. And I'm finally back home in Texas, BTW. I haven't Googled for kids' hearing protection yet. S'pose I should...

Re: Peace and guns....
Gart Bros. is just a large sporting goods store. I'm sure there's plenty of options in Texas

Re: Peace and guns....
Well, we went for the afternoon and had a blast! Lots of great people there and Matthew had a lot of fun shooting his first submachine gun!
We arrived at the range and headed for the registration desk to sign in and pay $25 for admission:

Matthew wanted to see the machine guns, so that's where we spent most of our time. He finally decided that he wanted to shoot the MP5:

He struggled a bit to reach the trigger and then had trouble with the weight of the trigger:

He fired a few shots semi-auto to get used to it:

Then with some help from "bluker1" (who brought all his MGs from Colorado to rent), he unleashed it full auto:

I finally got to feel a bit of what it's like to be a WWII Sergeant carrying a Tommy gun:

And next year, Matthew said he'll be big enough to shoot the big gun like this kid:

Lots of guns and lots of fun.Become a supporting member!

Man, you come down here and you've got a place to stay! I was actually thinking about camping at Gunstock next year so that I don't miss anything. 3 full days of fun!

Re: Peace and guns....
Another photo that someone else took that shows the selection my son and I had:

I think the PDW was probably the best choice, simply because he could fold the stock out of the way. It was too long. If it weren't for the stock, the silenced M-16 would probably have been fine as well...Become a supporting member!

Re: Peace and guns....
wow,
I heared US was huge on guns, interms of possibilities on obtaining one. However such an easy access to hardware you have on screen shots, I had never imagined.
You can create your own army, heh

Re: Peace and guns....
I didn't think to bump this until now. The weekend of peace and guns has lost the name "Gunstock" to some New Hampshire summer camp... However the event is still going to take place with a new name: Oktoberblast!

Sorry I posted this so late. I don't know if anyone else is interested in this, or not... I'm not sure if my son and I will be able to attend this year, either... If anyone from TG is planning on going, let me know, as that might be enough to convince my wife that I should go!Become a supporting member!

Re: Peace and guns....
Actually, my buddy Jason will probably look into dragging my sorry butt up there.
Kind of off topic Cing, but have you ever by chance heard of or been to a place called "The Impact Zone" around the Hempstead area?
