Re: Post your dream car
I just remembered that I would love to have more cars than the Shelby GT500 I posted earlier. I love German cars.
Porsche Cayman S
Audi R8
and finally, a BMW M3

Re: Post your dream car
All those cars are so ugly though compared to the lines of an Aston Martin, or a Jagaur. The Porche is just boring and looks like an ill fitting shoe, the audi has weird eyelashes and he black panels dont suit the rest of the car, and the bmw looks just like a volvo.

I realize you are biased towards British cars, but remember, different strokes for different folks

Hmm yes i am a little biased, but not that much, im not very nationalistic and more into meritocracy. There is no doubt the German car engineering is amazing and they produce some wonderful practical big cars, but they they are engineers and not artists. On the other hand Italians produce sexy toys that are fast but useless in real life. While your average Jaguar is both stylish, practical and great handling (the XF).

Re: Post your dream car

Clio 182. Hoping to acquire one after university, good bang for your buck. This thing will do 0-60 in 4 seconds if you add a decent turbo system.
I'm not going to get into the whole US vs Europe argument I don't really care but imo no-one does the hot-hatch better than the French.
Also, I wouldn't say no to any Ford with a Cossy engine.

Re: Post your dream car
Just so you all know, I have only owned German cars my whole life, so I am not some American car aficionado.....
The Radical's lap time means nothing to me. No matter how much you want to think otherwise, the Radical is a RACE car. Purebred and everything. There is not comparing an ACR or ZR1 to that machine. Might as well compare the Radical to Indy car, it would be a better comparison. I can guarantee you 100% that the Radical was at least on DOT style race rubber, if not a full slick.
It's ok to say that European cars as a whole are better handling, it's probably true. To say that European Supercars are generally better handling or faster than American equivalents would be a lie. They are in fact slower around the golden standard race track.
To the GT-R fanboy, get over it. I could turn around and say that a 3.8L Twin Turbo V6 making 480HP is the epitome of retarded. I wouldn't necessarily be that wrong either. It really doesn't matter though, ZR1 makes much more power in every way, everywhere. Not to mention pulls a lot more lateral G's on the skidpad
I have ridden/driven some incredibly fast cars, and honestly I find it hard for someone to dismiss the handling prowess of the two American monsters. Don't worry, I have seen what a 450hp Turbo Lotus Elise can do too....
Another thing we haven't discussed is cost. The American machines are ousting cars 3-4x times the price. Just something to consider....
Browna,
The Ford GT is not even on the same planet as the ZR1 and ACR and is considerably slower car. Let them test the other two and things will get interesting. Topgear in general, has funky laptimes as some are in the rain, and some are in the dry. For high performance machines that make over 600hp that makes a big difference. The drivers aren't the same each time which is another strike against the list. I am not keen on the track, but I haven't been impressed with any tracks in the UK anyway

Now we know who's side you really are on, did you name your cars Messerschmitt and Heinkel?
I bet you call your garage "The Luftwaffe"
*I own a 2001 Passat, the model before they change the lights to all space-craft like. It has 64,000 miles, black on the outside, basic interior on the inside, 6 disc cd changer in the back which is about to go kaput, still has a cassette playerwhich let me tell you is awesome for Iphones/ipods, and i will say, the car is a great piece of german engineering.
