    My latest toy is a recycled Dell 2U rack server. My ancient P4 (or was it P3) tower server was slowly dying, still running Fedora Core 2. (Uptime was often in hundreds of days, interrupted only by long power failures that the UPS couldn't handle. It was getting kernel panics lately, probably from dying hardware.) It served mail and files. The replacement is running CentOS 5.3 and all upgraded server packages, and has a lot more CPU and memory so it's much more responsive even when scanning for spam and viruses. (Opening a mail folder over IMAP was pretty painful on the old box.)
