    I've always wanted a '69 Mach 1:

and when they came out with the new ones last year, I decided that I'd be able to "settle" for a '04 Mach 1:

I'm a HUGE fan of shelby cars, though that could be because my last name is shelby :P

I do love his designs as do most of the car lovers in the world. Welcome back carroll!

I don't really understand how this vehicle has an advantage for cops over other cruisers. From the one photo of the trunk they're not carrying more than they would in the trunk of a crown vic, nor does it look like they could. Cool, yes. If I were a cop I'd want one. Does it handle better, or have more power? Do they have an all wheel drive? Guess I should I read more.

The cops in Vail, CO drive Saabs. Why? Dunno. Why would they need a Magnum in Auburn Hills? Dunno?

Well, there's a horrible trend for police departments to move towards smaller, more "economical" cars like Impalas and Intrepids. The problem is that the nature of police work demands a large, powerful vehicle that can handle the abuse that naturally occurs in the course of their duties. Many departments are purchasing mid size SUVs (Tahoes, Explorers) and having custom police packages installed. Right now, the Ford Crown Victoria is the only full size sedan with a factory police package. Dodge is, thankfully, providing Ford with some competition in this market.

Just saw these photos of one of your Trooper's cars:

I suppose it would be fun to drive one of those as a cop, but it would certainly suck to have to wear a uniform like that!

Yeah, the State Troopers really keep the "Smokey" image going strong. Those boys are hard core. I think it's a requirement to be at least 6'2" and 220lbs.

I've never seen the WRX, that's crazy. I've also noticed all the cops going with the low profile lights. They're much harder to spot especially at night.

I think the Suburu was probably a seizure and is now part of an anti-street racing unit?

Saabs in Vail? Dunno... To be different? Stylish?

As for Auburn Hills, I believe it's the closest town to Dodge HQ, therefore it gets all the cool prototypes for free. Just like Deerborn does with Ford...

I heard that Dallas PD is getting 40 Magnums for free for one year. Can't wait to go for a ride in one of 'em!
