No doubt! I was 7 years old with the first Star Wars movie was released, and I had many feelings about Carrie Fisher that I didn't understand for several years.

OMG WTF I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE EMPEROR PWN SO MANY LIL SISSY JEDI WUSSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That part alone was more than enough for me to want to watch the movie, I wanted to see the Emperor fight in Episodes 4-6, but alas, he only threw lightning (which was cool enough).

Poor Jedi's, the Emporer is wallhaxoring, using aimbot, and everything else imaginable.

Ok all you Star Wars fans, I have a legitimate question! If they show the Emperor as a badass in Episode 3, then how could Darth Vader just pick him up and throw him down a shaft in Episode 6? Glaring contradiction in my book, but then again, that was made eons ago and they might fudge abit for some more action. Why couldn't dude just fly out of there?

Because he had the stomach flu for the entirety of Episode 6. That's one of those details that's in the books that you just don't have time for in the movies.

Not a contradiction at all. In Return of the Jedi, Palpatine had all his attention focused on Luke and as a result (along with his implicit trust that Vader wouldn't turn on him) was caught completely by surprise when Vader picked him up like a sack of potatoes.

Palpatine tried to retaliate, but Vader endured long enough to let gravity take over. Of course, Palpatine's defensive strikes ultimately killed Vader.

As I understand it, in the novels that take place after the time of ROTJ, the Emperer didn't die; his "spirit" wandered around for a bit until it was hosted again in a "clone" of the original body. But that's another discussion.

That make sense, but I still say he should have flown out of there and shown Luke what was up!

There is also, from what I understand, something that happens to Palpatine during a battle with Yoda I believe in epIII that significantly effects him physically.

    Re: StarWars 3 Trailer

I don't think it was ever possible that Palpidious could thwart his own demise at the hands of Anakin/Vader. Anakin was The Chosen one... prophecied to bring balance to the Force (long believed to be the destruction of the Sith, in this case the death of Palpidious, and then himself). Only Anakin could defeat Palps, hence Palps would be powerless to stop him. It took so long because Anakin himself turned, and the prophecy (this is up for argument) was either delayed, or right on target. It may have been his destiny to become a Sith in order to wipe the entire slate clean, thereby giving the Force a chance at rebirth, in a balanced state (found in Luke who, in hindsight, might appear to be an amalgam of Light and Dark in one, rather than tilted only to one side). Or Palps managed to hijack Anakin, thereby prolonging the imbalance, but still ultimately ending with fulfillment of the prophecy. Personally, I subscribe to the first option.

God the EU sucks so bad it's not even funny. I remember trying to read some of the novels and literally wanting to vomit. Leave it to the hack writers to be unable to create any decent villians of their own and to just reuse anything they can.

I used to love Salvatore when I was younger. He wrote the whole Dark Elf trillogy and other books about Drizzt Do'Urden. Then I realized the Forgotten Realms is just one big "wank" world. His characters are so rediculously over-powered, I'd swear he was writing the novels with one hand.

These writers should just let Lucas's story alone and write something original for once. The Republic was running strong for 25,000 years. They can't take 5 of those years for themselves?
