I am guessing it is a matter of national security.

Re: Google Earth - Cool places to visit

Where as all our Military bases, NORAD, launch pads and area 51 are not? Why don't we just hand out maps and offer them a good rate on rental cars. This is fun and a hugh alert at the same time, this is just a taste of what BIG BROTHER has going on, they can read a car tag with a click of a button. But this a nice idea to see lots of things I would not get to see in my life time.

That airfield is Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ. The house we lived in until I was 4 years old is less than a mile from the base. They store a lot of old planes there because the climate in the desert Southwest is great for preserving metallic objects. Supposedly, they could have most of that fleet up in the air within two weeks if need be.

How old are you? I lived near Pantano and Escalante until I was 6 (moved to San Diego in 1981). I used to go out with the "big kids" and sneak into the graveyard to play in the planes until the MPs chased us off...

Edit: I lived here: 32°10'17.40"N 110°49'28.49"W

I'm 25 so I was born the year you moved away. We lived off of Prudence although I wouldn't know exactly which house without driving by it.

I think you might need this, but I'm not sure.
