then the question becomes what happenes if you have power faliure when in a situation where you are in no imediate danger, well thats fine you have time to fix, or drop your gear that would have to be up to yur commanding officer..
i dont think there is a shred of doubt that if this does what it says and doesnt overly effect your ability to move or drop the gear if needed then it will be a useful tool in any war. een for long distant campers or everest climbs. etc etc. not just for war.

with reguards to the millitary, yes 70lb is not really that heavy, solders are meant to be fit.. so dont make them dohnut eating fatties who can use one of those...
the SAS carry their own bodywieght on their back. and their weapon seperate. obviously their training allows them to carry a little more than the average jo... but soldiers should be able to carry 100lbs and yeah ryn you would not be able to get out of there any time soon. so dropping gear and finding cover would be neon impossible... he could just as well shoot himself because he will die.
