I dunno, I barely know the 0070 stuff. That and I dunno what year the whole Seed series takes place. All it says is in the year 0070 then goes on to talk about Bloody Valentine but it doesn't say what year Zaft attacked Heliopolis.

But they did mention a Megellan class battleship the first episode of Seed on the Volume 1 DVD. Thats why I think it was destroyed. The Archangel does look a lot like a Magellan but its wider.

Yes Azzman the Magellan class battleship is mainly a command ship. It is reserved for fleet commanders and other high ranking officers.

Chicken the Bloody Valentine takes place in the year Cosmic Era 70. Magellan ships are from the Universal Century timeline. (The UC timeline consists of the series Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam 0080 War In the Pocket, Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory, Gundam 08th MS Team, Zeta Gundam, Gundam ZZ, Gundam Char's Counterattack, Gundam F91, and Victory Gundam.) The weapons I have put up aren't in the Cosmic Era timeline.

The Bloody Valentine refers to a tragedy that happened. On 2/14 Cosmic Era 70 the Earth Alliance engaged in a battle near ZAFT's home colonies (called PLANTs) During the battle a nuclear missle was fired at one of the colonies. Bloody Valentine refers to the colony being destroyed by the Earth Alliance. If I recall they also name the war the First Bloody Valentine War. (The 2nd is covered in Gundam SEED Destiny. It should be out in the US soon. It unfortunately sounds pretty bad. Atleast from what my friend told me. Very disappointing considering Gundam SEED is a good show.)

The Earth Alliance Forces didn't have mobile suits because they never considered it a serious threat. Because of this the development of the Gundam mobile suits is carried out in secret and isn't given much funding. The Alliance military figured that even if a mobile suit was better then then their Moebius mobile armor units it would take only about 2-3 units to take it on. In reality it takes about five or more to take on one GINN.

Its not so much that the Earth Alliance forces wasn't prepared for the war. It was just that the mobile suits ZAFT employed was just so powerful. The Earth Alliance forces look better once Kira shows up because it has finshed its own mobile suit development. By about episode 35 of the series the Earth Alliance starts deploying its own mass production mobile suits.

While Kira and Athrun are both Coordinators and the same age they are on different sides of the war for a few reasons. One is that Athrun meet Kira at a school on the moon. He was sent there because Athrun's father, Patrick Zala, was worried about his safety. Once even more problems started to arise between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT Patrick brought his son back to the PLANTs. Instead of going there Kira and his parents moved to Heliopolis.

Also Chicken this is the unit Mu La Flaga uses is this.

TS-MA2mod.00 Moebius Zero. Its the prototype version of the regular Moebius you see in SEED. It outpreforms its mass production brother on many levels, including weapons and manuverability. It has one linear cannon just like the regular Moebius however it has four wire controlled gunbarrels. (Think pods that have two cannons on them.) They are very hard to control for most pilots and thus were only given to elite pilots.

A few fun facts about Mu La Flaga. Mu La Flaga was a member of the Earth Alliance's elite Moebius Zero mobile armor corps. (A group made up entirely of elite pilots that could handle using the Zero's gunbarrels.) Unfortunately during the last battle on the Grimaldi Front, on the moon, the Moebius Zero corp was all but whipped out. Only Mu La Flaga survived. He also earned his nickname"The Hawk of Endymion" for singlehandedly shooting down five GINN mobile suits during this battle.

I like Mu La Flaga's ship. I've only got 5 of the 10 DVDs so I haven't seen the whole series yet. So, would you say that Gundam Seed Destiny is not worth watching when it is released over here in the US?

I thought it was Zaft Forces that destroyed the colony. It is explained so fast in the show that its hard to follow. i've watched the first DVD more than a dozen times and I learn something new each time I watch it.

Thanks for explaining this to me. You know a lot about it.

The weapons of the RX Project.

The SCV-70 White Base. It is a ship of the Pegasus class of assualt carriers. It was the first Federation ship designed to carry mobile suits. (Every thing else was just refitted to carry them. Be it internally, externally, or both.) It can fly in the Earth's atmosphere because of a Minovsky craft system. Its armed with eight three tube missle launchers, one dual barrel 580mm cannon, two dual barrel beam cannons, and eight dual barreled AA guns. There are a total of seven Pegasus ships. I have about three in the game. The most famous is the White Base.

The FF-X7 Core Fighter is an important part of the RX Project. It serves as the cockpit for the RX Project mobile suits. It is also a very fast and manuverable fighter. It was developed by the same company that created the TIN Cod and Saberfish fighters. This model like the Saberfish works both on Earth and in space. It is armed with four 25mm cannons and two missile launchers.

The RX-75 Guntank. Development started back when the Federation first got word of mobile suits. It was orginally thought of as an anti-MS unit but serves as fire support. It is armed with two 180mm cannons and two quad missile launchers also it sports Luna Titanium armor. Allowing it to take rounds from the 120mm machine gun of a Zaku. It has a crew of two with the gunner in the head and the driver in the torso. It features a Core Block system that uses a Core Fighter as a cockpit. Thus if the Guntank is destroyed the pilots can escape in the Core Fighter saving the pilot and combat data. The model aboard the White Base was later upgraded to allow the gunner to be the driver as well.

The RX-77-2 Guncannon. This is another fire support mobile suit. It features a Core Block system and Luna Titanium armor allowing it to withstand shells from 120mm Zaku Machine gun. It has so much armor it doesn't need a shield. It is armed two 240mm cannons, two 60mm vulcan guns in its head, and a beam rifle. It's cannons can also be replaced with missle launchers.

The RX-78-1 Gundam. This is the close combat mobile suit of the RX Project. It features a Core Block system and Luna Titanium armor. It can carry a shield in combat. It is armed with two 60mm vulcan guns, two beam sabers, and a beam rifle.

The RX-78-2 Gundam. This is another close combat mobile suit. It is the model that Amuro Ray uses. It features a Core Block system, Luna Titanium armor, and a "learning computer". It can carry a shield in combat. The main difference between this model and the RX-78-1 is that it has a bit more armor and more weapons. In addition to the two 60mm vulcan guns, two beam sabers, and a beam rifle, it also features two beam javelins, (the beam sabers can become them) a Gundam hammer, and a 360mm Hyper Bazooka. Its best feature though is Amuro Ray.

^I am the Federation in my Gundam game. That and I hate the Zeons. Especailly now. (The AI is stupid at times but when it doesn't something smart it really hurts.)

I buy most of my anime from amazon. What I don't buy (whatever I want to watch that isn't sold as a boxed thin-pack set for a reasonable price on amazon) I rent off netflix. I have like 60 or 70 DVDs in my netflix queue. I think 90% of those are anime. heh. But I never really got into the gundam series. I watched Macross Plus the movie and Escaflowne, and I own the Neon Genesis Evangelion series; but I never really got into any other mecha anime.

Actaully how much is netflix? I may need to sign up.

I think my next picture post will probably be the road to a mass production mobile suit. (Well the parts after the V project is done.)

haha Yeah, I guess that's technically right.

I'm on the "unlimited" 2 at a time, and it costs about ~$16.50 including tax. But I've been getting throttled lately, since I usually get the dvds, watch them both that night or the next day, then send them back the day after. Do that enough, and they mess with your expected ship time and stuff. That gets annoying, especially when you're in the middle of a good series and you want to continue watching promptly. But it's still a great deal.

I'm in syracuse and I get the dvd the day after they ship, and they get mine the day after I mail it back. Since you're in NJ, I'm sure it'll be the same turn around time.
