    Growing up in Tucson, we called these dust devils. I suppose they're very, very weak tornados, but they happen all the time in just about every locale, but are only noticed in places with a lot of sand (or so I'm told).

    I remember one time I got off the schoolbus when I was in first grade. I was wearing shorts and a tshirt on a warm day. Well, a dust devil whipped up just like in that video and I turned to get back on the bus until it blew out. The bus driver SHUT THE DOOR ON ME AND LAUGHED! I was pissed. That one made me bleed. It feels like all of your exposed skin is rubbed with sandpaper, and your ears and nose get filled with dirt. Oh, what I wouldn't give to be face to face with that bus driver right now...
