I played that exact video for my class this week on the big projector for my Sensation and Perception lecture. That's by far the coolest optical illusion I've ever seen.

Wiki entry on what produces the illusion here. The wiki entry has a link to the same stimulus, without the crappy techno soundtrack.

I recommend checking out the two publications here for a bit more insight into what they are trying to accomplish with the program.

I don't think you would want to organize your entire computer like this but if you were working on a research paper or thesis where you are dealing with a large amount of electronic sources (academic journals not wikipedia pages) I think BumpTop would certainly help. I would've loved to have had this last December working on my senior thesis.

That's fantastic.

I wouldn't want to have to have my entire HDD organized in that manner, but that has got to be the most efficient computing desktop ever.

Man, I had a lot of fun watching this. A Star Trek, Star Wars match up.

They did good, but there were some issues.

One.
Star Destroyer was switched with a Super Star Destroyer.

Regardless, it was good and fun.

I believe the ending was fair. The Enterprise's senors would have dedected that type of surge.
