BE-Tech Steyr Aug Electric

Anybody else have an airsoft gun? I think they're great fun.

Guess I don't understand airsoft to much. What do you do with them?

I think they run around and shoot each other with them, kinda like paintball, but usually involving simulated scenarios.

How far do they shoot accurately?

Re: My Airsoft Rifle

I used to have a Glock mock-up Airsoft gun... sadly lost it a year or so ago in a move (found a few on eBay, sadly, nobody wants to ship one of those puppies up here to Canada. Borders aren't that bad, but the postal service is absolutely anal!)

It wasn't that accurate as it fires off plastic pellets, but it was a helluva lotta fun. I'd compare it to a toned down bb gun I suppose.

Re: My Airsoft Rifle

I used to have a few when i was a kid, hanging up a string of biscuits and immolating them with 50 small balls was great. It did tend to make the garden look like it had been through a hallucenogenic hail storm though.

I then moved onto some "proper" air rifle sports and owned this beast: (not my actual rifle, that was sold to fund the Italy "venture"). I added a walther competition barrel, temperature gauge, and all sorts of other goodies.

When i tacked on this Leupold scope you could put 5 shots through virtually the same hole on an indoor range at 50yds and do it time after time. Man that thing could shoot, i couldnt keep up a lot of the time

http://www.opticsplanet.net/leupold-...fle-scope.html ( I think i had an earlier incarnation but the specs were pretty much the same except it had a graduated reticule for manual windage adjustment.

I also had my fun with a CP88 CO2 pistol...

Yes, sir. It's my issued weapon, I don't personally own it...

Oh, and Steyr AUGs are pieces of poop. I highly recommend against considering getting one.

I'd think the trigger pull would stink, what with the semi-auto and full-auto functionality both being incorporated. Plus, it's a bullpup design, which usually means a heavy trigger pull anyway. Still, I've always wanted to shoot one.

I'll have to take some pics of my stuffs and post them. Gun pr0n threads are always fun.

Not worth the cash, those things are fetching $3-$4k for the civilian owned ones. Can't import then anymore, so it's just what's here that you can buy.

Re: My Airsoft Rifle

Their crappy magazines are their weakness. When I first got mine, I was told to be careful not to slam the magazine up into the well, that I had to "baby" this rifle. Screw that. If you drop a half full magazine from waist high, at least 6 rounds will fly out of it. No thanks.

Re: My Airsoft Rifle

Yikes. I'll stick with my ARs for my 5.56 rifles.
