Re: Post your Ride

alright I dont have any pictures but I got a 91' Mercury Topaz

Its a nice little car but there always that 50/50 chance that it will start up but it will usually get me to were I want to go. As a plus, pushing it up hills really helps my triceps

luckily, I was thrown into the driver door instead of into the airbag, so I didn't know it had deployed until after the car had stopped moving. (I don't recall any of the details of the accident between getting hit and getting out of the car.) Had I been thrown into the airbag, I would've been in so much worse shape because I'm a very short person, so I sit very close to the steering wheel. My ribs would've been crushed/broken.

Re: Post your Ride

My car shortly after it rolled 100k miles about 2 years ago. Still going strong with 125k on it now.

Mom picked up a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT today.. Very pretty car. I refused to allow the dealership to clean it up, so guess what I get to do on the 4th??? Detailing is one of my hobbies I'll try to snap a few pictures of it.

Actually, I had the airbags pop on my car several years ago.. 1999 or 2000, I forget. Just a couple scratches on my nose, but I sit pretty far away from the steering wheel. I was pretty dazed afterwards, ears were ringing because of the explosion and because the horn was going off. Took me a good minute to figure out that the horn was part of my problem. Pretty disorienting when you have a small explosion just a foot or two from your face. Damn things broke my windshield and cracked the dash internally..

Re: Post your Ride

They should bring the Fiesta back to the US. They look better then the small cars from Nissan and Toyota.

not really....

The middle cars number plate is of the old style, which is F for year (87 or 88 i think), then numbers and letters (letters blanked out) meaning where the car was registered etc.

the Newer style is updated two times a year. 03 = early 2003, 53 = late 2003. The First two letters before the 03/53 is where its registered, IE mine is Yorkshire (i think) and is a very odd number plate to see in London! ET is a more local plate...

Re: Post your Ride

Jesus, Doodie... how did I know that you would drive such an abomination?

We've got 5 cars here at the compound. My main driver is a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis. Nothing exciting to post there. She's got 193k on it, and still going strong.

Wife's care is a 1997 Geo Prism LSI. Extremely boring, and much less reliable than you'd expect.

For bad snow days, hauling stuff, and general second-car duty, we have a 1996 Chevy Tahoe. I just picked that one up last year for like $2k. It's a very nice truck for the money. Nearly 200k miles and a few spots of rust, but runs awesome and does the job perfectly.

Then I've got my full-size Chevy truck... an '89 K2500 with a 7 foot Western snowplow. Quite rusty, and not particularly all that trusty. I basically only use it for plowing the driveway and the occasional haul to the compost place. I -should- sell it, but then I'd have to pay someone to plow the driveway. It's cheaper to just keep the basic insurance ($20/month) so it's there if I ever need it. The original plan was to sell it when I got the Tahoe, but... I haven't.

The 5th car is my project. It's a 1985 Dodge Omni GLH-Turbo. I'm sure y'all remember the Omni/Horizon from the 80s, right? Crappy little hatchback from our friends at Chrysler. Well, they made a limited production version that was turbocharged. It's significantly faster and more fun than the regular lump. So I've heard anyway -- I've owned it since January 2006 and still haven't driven it...

I got it for $300, and it's a total POS. But, I've redone just about everything mechanical on it since then. As soon as I replace the turbo (the used one I originally bought was bad), it will be done and ready for paint. My brother is a pro-body guy, so when it's done it will be the best looking POS hatchback on the road

Re: Post your Ride

Well.. Up until today I had my 2003 Honda Accord EX V6 that I posted earlier. However, I traded that in today for a new truck..

It's a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT. Beautiful ride.
