    B-17 Flight

I not-so-recently had a flight on one of the few remaining airworthy B-17's in existence. Was leafing through some of my pics today, and found this. I took these about 9 months ago, but figured some you guys would appreciate an in-flight tour of the Flying Fortress:

Awesome! Thanks for sharing these. Both plane and pics look great.

I haven't ever flown in a B-17, but I had the opportunity to see the Aluminum Overcast when it came to Columbus a few years ago. For the right price ($400), I could have taken a ride, but that day I chose not to. Someday, perhaps.

    Re: B-17 Flight

I've seen Aluminum Overcast at a few air shows, pretty impressive plane.

It was $400 bucks for a half-hour ride on "Fuddy Duddy" (above), but they took all the members of the local media up (me) for a free flight to promote the Experimental Aircraft Assn. Once in a lifetime opportunity. Actually, I think the one thing that topped the B-17 flight was riding in a 1941 Boeing Stearman biplane through maneuvers. The hammerhead turn is the closest to getting sick I've ever been in an aircraft.

Edit, it was with these guys. I didn't take my camera up because I was pretty sure I'd lose it:

That would have made me feel the same way.
