Yeah the recent severe patching makes X3 pretty much playful, but go back a year and it was the mid CTDs which forced you to save all the time fearing a CTD might come

How much better is X3 compared to Freelancer? I've played a little of X1 when it came out, but I haven't touched any of the sequels since (i actually don't know where i stuffed my copy of X1 either).
