Re: Baby Picture....
If you mean why I would want the gun, I work in some strange places at times (went to 8 foreclosure homes today) and I am not going to orphan my son. Besides my desire to have one it is also my constitutional right, and my local sheriff agrees that I "shall have" a permit to carry one concealed. I hope I don't sound defensive on that, it's a very simple issue to me.

Re: Baby Picture....
Why would you not want a silencer? Have you ever shot a gun? Wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have to wear hearing protection when you go out shooting? Of course, unfortunately, the problem is the potential for abuse...

Re: Baby Picture....
It's useless. It kills the concealability of the gun, and is only useful for unlawful purposes. As a regular citizen, there is no time he should need to conceal the sound of his own firearm.

Just like a sawed-off shotgun is useless except for unlawful use. It has no advantage to an everyday citizen, hence it's illegal.Of course, unfortunately, the problem is the potential for abuse...
BTW: nice gun. 40 cal = great++.

Benny, if you ever find yourself near Dallas, Texas, look me up and I'll show you the basics. We'll go to a range and I'll show you the basics. Everyone I've ever taken shooting that hadn't shot a gun previously has enjoyed learning how to shoot.

Phew, what a relief, I thought Squid was actually spawning...
Hypothetically of course... What are the chances of me, as a Canadian, going down to the States and purchasing a pistol? Nevermind bringing it back across the border, is it possible for a non-U.S. citizen to purchase a gun in the States? I can get almost anything on the hush here but just wondering if it is possible and relatively easy to do.

Re: Baby Picture....
Hmmm, I'm not sure... You live out east, right? Vermont has the least strict gun laws in the nation. But I think federal laws would trip you up, if anything. I'm not really sure on that, I've never looked. Lemme see what I can dig up...

Why would you want to come down here to buy one if you can get them up there? Cost? I think you'll have to break a few rules to buy one down here...Become a supporting member!

Yeah, it's around $2K for a nice pistol from the guys I know so it was a cost issue but you confirmed what I thought, thanks.

Re: Baby Picture....
Exactly, if one wants justice one has to take care of business one's self. I have had experience with getting ripped-off, subsequently catching the piece of ****, beating the hell out of him and making his car look like it was dropped from a helicopter. The last thing the officer said after questioning me and taking my statement was "sometimes it makes a lot more sense not to call the police at all". In other words, good job... Even the cops are frustrated by our useless legal system and all many of them want is to take the boots to all the revolving-door bottom-feeders they deal with on a daily basis. Our "laws" are different up here but nevertheless, I wouldn't hesitate to mame/disfigure/kill someone trying to steal from me or threatening my safety. I'm not necessarily a fan of guns but this is one issue I feel the States has always had bang-on because it seems only the criminals have guns here, nicer ones than the cops FFS and our federal government has wasted over two billion dollars on a gun registry scheme to make it mandatory for hunters/club shooters/gun enthusiasts to bend over backwards just to keep their firearms and in many cases surrender them.

Re: Baby Picture....
I am thinking of getting a pistol when I move up to Michigan. My fiance has already expressed interest in learning to shoot one (it is probably a good thing I don't piss her off
).

Re: Baby Picture....
I've shot guns since I was a little kid, my dream gun is an HK MP7
I wanna try 3 round burst so bad
My fiance also wants to learn how to shoot, all I have in my house now is a 45, and I dont want that to be her first experience, I have a luger style 22 at my folks house (dad has large safe with about 12 of my guns in it) but I want her to leanr on something with a little less kicik, I know she'll love it.
As far as gun control goes, its ****ed up, no way around it. Like you said, peole who resposibly use guns have to jump through hoops, and the people using them to kill buy them on the corner or under the table.
All in all, I hate to go back to this but..... "Guns dont kill people, people kill people" its a very true statement. And I would shoot someone if they came in my hosue un invited period
its my right.
**edit: and you dont have to type well or have good grammar to own a gun either lol...

What kind of holster is that there, Squid? Looks like Kydex of some sort... You like it? Do you wear it a lot?
