funny thing that...The dude I bought it off of at www.gunbroker.com threw it in with the purchase and I don't see a brand name on it at all. The FFL guy that helped me with the transfer thought it was a Fobus. I do like it so far and have worn it a dozen times or so.

I wanted to add something to DeRanger's question. Any time you legally purchase a gun in the States you have to fill out an instant background check form which the Dealer calls in to the FBI. This form has your address, name, and several questions about your legal status to own a firearm such as if you've been convicted of a felony, or domestic abuse. One of the questions is if you are a citizen or permanent resident. I assume there must be restrictions on immigrants or they wouldn't ask the question.

Here is dl link for the form in WA: http://www.dol.wa.gov/forms/652010.htm

I found this thread where they are discussing this question as well:http://www.grasmick.com/board/?topic=topic1&msg=6907

One of the best sources for current gun laws is the NRA. Even if you don't agree with their politics it is still the most current, easy to read compilation of gun laws.

It doesn't look like a Fobus, I have one of those. Perhaps a Comp-Tac? I've heard good things about them...

Keep in mind that the background check is only done when a dealer sells a gun. If a private party wants to sell a gun to another private party, I don't believe it is required. This is the so called "gun show loophole" that the liberals are so up in arms about... Hehe, "up in arms"... Get it?

I done some research. Looks like you can carry concealed weapons in Michigan. I bet Moore is upset about that

Many states have changed their laws in recent years. Cing might know more than me, but I suspect it is a sort of backlash against the pointless "assault weapon" ban. (uh oh, now I've done it.)

    edit:
found this on that wonderful NRA site:
Before 1987, there were 10 RTC states. Today there are 38 RTC states, an all-time high.

I think it was a backlash, combined with the incredible success of Florida's "shall issue" law. Everyone thought that more guns would equal more crime when in fact the opposite happened. Violent crime decreased drastically once people were allowed to defend themselves.

Something bugged me about your post, and I kept meaning to go back to read it again and I simply never got around to it. Then I read an article in a professional journal at work and that convinced me to dig up this post.

This suppressor was tested by Heckler&Koch by shooting 10,000 rounds per can on a single pistol. The manufacturer claims a proven life expectency in excess of 40,000 rounds in .45 cal and even greater in the lower calibers.

You might also look at this silencer and tell me what in the world a non-criminal might do with one...
