Armed Assault (downloadable German version)

These are a few screenshots from the German version of Armed Assault that you can buy and download. I applied the English translation patch, but didn't seem to work. Lucky for my I speak/read OK German due to my German wife.

The weapon reloads are the same as in OFP, except that now the magazine disappears during the reload and reappears when the reload is completed. Aside from that, it's the same as Flashpoint.

These may be stupid questions, but can you enter the buildings, do doors open and close, and can you look out windows?

yes you can enter building, yes look and fire out windows, yes climb church steeples or the light house for a good "Saving Private Ryan" movie moment, lol... no you can't open and close doors, can only go in buildings with open doors, designed for it.

Yes, you can. Certain buildings allow you to open/close doors, but it's probably still a bit buggy. There's a context-sensitive icon for it, too.

It'd be nice to have in ArmA, but it's not there. Also, try to remember that VBS2 isn't going to be available until Q3 2007, so while it may be a planned feature for it, it's probably not done yet. Oh, and VBS2 is made by a different studio.

OK, I haven't seen that yet... I opened up the editor and placed me in the middle of a large town, went to every door, couldn't open or close any, unless they were already opened... but i may be wrong, just went in like that to check for you.

I don't either, but I will be taking a hammer to the wif..errr.piggy bank and upgrading the old PC for this one.

A map so large you could never hope to put yourself in a safe position where you cannot be flanked (yes you must actually check your six), nice graphics, a large modding community, and neverending scenarios (if you can dream it you can do it in ArmA)
