As Borat said in his movie when holding the Golden Desert Eagle, "Wawa woowah! Make my day." Funny cuz he wanted an Israeli made gun to protect himself from the Jews. Lol. Beautiful gun. I want the D.E. .50 cal. Not practical in the least, except for protecting against bears while hunting moose in Alaska, but so cool. Might make a good home protection weapon. Nah, shotguns cheaper and possibly more effective at close range, but I digress. Desert Eagles rock.

Kinda...
I get plenty of practice ammo from work, and since we practice with the same stuff that we carry, it's high quality stuff. Not that I would ever use government property for personal use, but I'd just like to carry a Kimber that could use the same ammo that I have access to...
And I think it's a superior caliber overall. Far less recoil for just a little bit less performance, according to most studies of real life stopping power.

So, how hard is it to get a license in NY (outside of NYC and Long Island)?

Let's just say that MA is not gun friendly and due to AG's regulations, we cannot buy hardly any handguns in the state of MA. You can't buy HK's, glocks, Kimber's, Colts, etc. I think the main new (not used) handguns you CAN buy in MA are Sigs, Rugers, S&W, Para Ordnance, beretta, and Walther.
MA sucks

Well, seeing as how Mitt Romney is a new-found gun enthusiast, maybe things will change there before he goes on his run for the Presidency. That is, unless he changes his mind again.

That boggles my mind that they restrict handguns by brand. Are they saying an HK USP is deadlier than a Ruger P90? Sounds almost like some kind of manufacturer kick-backs are happening.

Not really restricted by brand, but how the guns are tested and proven "safe" by our attorney general's regulations. Our AG makes the manufacturer jump through many hoops of testing and to basically "give up" like 5 guns for different tests, which they do not get back. Most companies just don't bother with our state because it's too much trouble to deal with. Luckily we have some companies that will do it.
