Rofl, Wild Metal. I had this game for the Dreamcast, and at the time I thought it was fun, it was truly and awful game though. GTA2 was also fun on the Dreamcast, I'm downloading now, thanks.

Can you say almost perfect reviews across the board so far?

    Re: Gta Iv

I'm really on the fence on this. I've avoided the previous titles after feeling they were against a lot of my own morals (don't question my morals please!) added to the fact that I am just recently not a minor I'd like to hear some opinions.

I'm no stranger to blood and gore, but I don't like the idea of picking up hookers or going to strip joints (Vigin eyes! :P) and I'm wondering if I can go throught the game without doing so. I know shootouts with cops will be inevitable but am wondering if that can be kept to a minimum, I know not running over people is a good start

Again any help is greatly appreciated, I still live with my family at the moment and so I don't want anything to be ashamed of (they're no stranger to gore either).

Heh I remember in the GTA3 after I beat the game once and got bored with it I replayed it trying to kill the least amount possible and just sticking with legal stuff.. No car jacking 50 cars in a day and stuff like that.. Was actually pretty fun and challenging.

Read the IGN review if you want to see if the game will offend your sensibilities:
    http://ps3.ign.com/articles/869/869541p1.html
I'm betting that it will in some way, but the spin the story puts on the game may put it all into a better perspective. I'm not knocking you, but I really have to laugh at someone avoiding a game because of their moral standing. It is entertainment, nothing more.

On a more interesting and much more important note, it seems the PS3 runs GTA IV better than the 360 according to IGN:

Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch. Either version will do you proud.

Well, I have the game, put about 4 hours into it yesterday, and mostly Yes, you can go through the game minimizing aspects you don't want to deal with. Cop shootouts are easy, unless a certain mission (and I haven't played through a huge amount) requires it, you can always just run from the police, ignore hookers and stip joints. There are some side missions that have beneficial aspects to "hooking up" with dates.. So far the payoff for that is pretty much camera focuses on outside of the date's building and listening to about 3 lines of "suggestive dialouge" It may be possible that you can still get the benefits by raising your friendship level to 100% without actually going inside (It always give you the option to press your luck or just end the date).

So grain of salt and all, but from my first delving into the game as long as the language/violence isn't an issue, it appears the sex stuff can be mostly ignored/skipped/minimalized.

    Re: Gta Iv

If you've seen the Gamespot review. there is a possibility of going to strip clubs as a "social activity", but it's your choice whether you go there or not (as I understand it), although it is entirely possible that you go on a mission where you have to be in a strip club for a particular reason, (like there was one in San Andreas where you got instructions from some guy who seemed to spend all his time there), so don't say I didn't warn you if you decide to get the game and something like that comes up.

If I were you I'd wait, and ask a month down the line in either this thread or the TG general discussion forums. At least one or two should have finished it by then. (since it seems the story mode itself can be completed in just about 30 hours apparently)

Thanks for all your help. I can't thank you all enough. I understand it's just a game, but I do feel guilty for doing some things in video games. I think I will pick this game up but I probably won't be playing it around the family too much

Yh, I'd say that would be fine for what you want to do.

Yeah, I've put 2-3 days into it now and am somewhere around 60% completion and can tell you with certainty that you can easily skip sexual related activities. There has been exactly one mission that you had to go to a strip club for, and it was to take out the managers.

Anyone on here have an online PS3 account. If you do add me: Ingame name is blackmain

The hungry, ignorant man immediately grasps that he is handed a fish, but is bewildered when handed a net. The man who shivers in the cold thinks happily of the man who invites him to sit by his fire, and somewhat poorly of the man who loans him an axe, flint and steel.
