Re: Battlefield: Bad Company.
After doing some reading on BF:BC I did find out there are some glitches to the game. About 3,000 people had to have their stats reset cause they have already been exploiting these glitches in the game or stat padding.
I have yet to see a BF game not have a glitch in gameplay somewhere, yeah it is true though it would be a lot worse if on the PC cause of people trying to actually hack the game. Then there are the obvious glitches for BF:BC, they may not actually effect gameplay but still they are glitches. Like the mic not working on the PS3 versions is a glitch. The the dog tag lag, EA acknowldges this one as well. Guess I plan on not knifing anyone real soon, I am right at the limit they claim the dog tag lag will start.
I still think the game could have some major improvements to make it a lot better, I know it is a console and only so much can be done for a console game due to a few reasons, one being the lack of buttons on a controller to make things better and the other being the fact the PS3 may have some good specs but a lot of PC's are usually running better specs. The Ps3 has the advantage over the PC for online play cause everbody is equal, no super modified hyped up computer running 5.0+Ghz processors, tri or quad SLI cards, and 8Gb of RAM. I read that if any hardware is tampered with in the PS3 it locks up on the user and makes the PS3 useless(I am sure people are trying to get a work around for this though maybe just so they can add more RAM).

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company.
Would be nice if they was some way you could use a keyboard and mouse. I have played PC games for almost 10 years and it is hard to get used to controller again. Last console i bought was a N64.
Another thing that sucks about the multiplayer is no server browser. It is almost impossible to play with buddys because when you join it puts you in random servers.

Yea I hear ya on that Snowman! I did have a Gamecube but more for the kid...same with the Wii before that it was a Dreamcast!
There is a couple ways to get Keyboard/Mouse to work and FRAG on the PS3... one is the Smartjoy FRAG which is for PS2 and then you can get a PS2 to PS3 controller adapter.
There is also something out there for the PS3 called the XFPS Rateup Adapter that is supposed to be pretty good. I have not tried either... but I plan to when I get less busy!

Ditto. I have basically decided that the shooters no matter how well reviewed piss me off too much on the ps3. I can't play a "skill" game without the precision of a mouse and keyboard. Flipside is a really enjoy GTA on the ps3 controller compared to the last GTA on my computer.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company.
Well, I am sure by now a lot of you that have BF:BC have already downloaded the Conquest mode. I did a couple of nights ago and played around with it for a while before making a report here. I really didn't get into it like I did BF2 on the PC. Not due to the fact of the controller, everybody already knows the problems with that and all agree a mouse and keyboard setup is what's needed for any FPS games on a console system. What I did not care for was the maps, they seems so small. The maps are so huge in Gold Rush after all is unlocked and that was what I was hoping for. I know, a lot of people are wondering.... why should we have to run all that way to the next flag to capture it or something a long those lines. I was hoping to have some helicopters and more land vehicles to pick from. I did not play all the maps available, I believe I only missed out on 1 but I just couldn't stand to play another boring map that just has everybody spawning in and almost instantly getting killed when the enemy is right there.
Same as on BF2, nobody defends a captured flag, all go rushing for the next flag or a select few will try to bypass the next flag to get around to the last flag. No commander as I was hoping for, so that means no organization to get squads where they may be the best help for their team. Of course still waiting for a patch or something to come a long and help with the mic issues. I have stopped trying to use my mic when it only works maybe 10 minutes and that is still no guarantee. I will try when I see another patch come out that actually addresses the mic problems.
Highly disappointed in the Conquest mode, I do think the Gold Rush is better to play, especially on a console. Arcade style shoot 'em up game. Oh well. Maybe the next round they can make it better for a console, lol. maybe BF Heroes will be what I am looking for.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company.
Any of you guys still playing this in multiplayer ? If so let me know so I can team up with you online. I got rid of the 360 version and got the ps3 ver. It seems way better then the 360 version . I mean people actually die on the ps3 ver. It plays way different then the 360 version and I like it a lot more.
Thanks for your time and consideration, Desode

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company.
hey my PSN is Owhin and i have begun to play BFBC quite a bit. I agree with everyone that they botched up the conquest mode pretty bad (not that i dont have fun playing it, but it could have been a hell of alot better than it is) by not...well by not making it the same as they have made EVERY other good BF game (BF1942, BF2, BF2142 etc). also the squad making in the game is annoying, first you have the 90% of players who A) have mic issues or B) cant be bothered to spend 20$ to get a mic in the 1st place so there is hardly any communication, second you get squadded up randomly so you have a very low chance to end up in a squad with that 1 or 2 people on your team who DO have mics and that work, thirdly whenever a round ends they scramble the squads at times (it always seems to be when i am in the squad with sum1 who has a mic) so that one person in your squad who had a mic is now gone...4ever..., and lastly the person who you can spawn on is always whoever is alive the longest so there is no way to designate a squadleader of sorts. also in both modes you cant even up teams.
but i think we can get around some of this if we trade PSNs and get on Team Speak with a computer so we dont have mic problems and can stay communicating if our squad gets scrambled. also if enough of us present the idea of changing the multiplayer of BFBC i think the game could have alot more potential.Life Lessons Learned in BF2142
1. DO NOT TEABAG EXPLOSIVE OBJECTS
2. MOTION MINING THE INSIDE OF A TITAN DOES NOT HELP YOUR TEAM AT ALL
3. DO NOT RUSH APMS

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company.
This game ran it's course with me, I am looking to trade it off or something. I haven't played BF:BC in a long, long time. I may get back into BF:BC2 though. Depends on how the demo feels to me, got a code for it right now but it is not working right now. I will try it again later to see if I can get the beta demo.
