Re: So. I got a PlayStation 3.
I also just got a PS3 yesterday, so far I only have Ninja Gaiden so I haven't tested any online gaming goodness... My online thing should be Zoopy_T, if I set up the right thing

Re: So. I got a PlayStation 3.
Funny I want to know who taught Dylan Jobs how to blog. It seems he plugs unrelated things into his blog just to "jazz it up". I can't believe they're using PS3 clusters like that though. I thought it would just be a box with all the inside components already inside, but just sliding PS3s in? Crazy.
I like the ability of having splitscreen online, although I can't imagine myself performing very good at all with only half a screen, or even a dreaded quarter, it's nice to know I can introduce the game to a friend online by playing with him

Re: So. I got a PlayStation 3.
Haven't got mine connected up online, but I can direct you to some good singleplayers/non-online multiplayers.
1) Assassin's Creed - A little repetitive near to the end of the game, but still one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. If you have a HD-TV and HDMI cable, then this is an absolute must-have.
2) Elder Scrolls IV - Only get this if you know you're going to have nothing to do in the next month and have got a lot of time to kill. An amazing game if you can get into it, played it for about 12 hours straight when I first got it, but then I realised I wouldn't have the time to do it all properly, so I haven't touched it since.
3) Motorstorm - If you like Burnout style racing games, go for this. They're making Burnout more like NFS, which I personally don't like. I'm not a drving gamer myself unless there's a twist, and Motorstorm has that. One player offline, and I've tried it out online...B-E-A-UTIFUL.
4) Virtua Fighter 5 - Most grew up with Mario, Final Fantasy and Tekken,. I grew up with Sonic, Shenmue and Virtua Fighter. It's always been my fighting game, what can I say. Extremely technical, people in Japan spend literally years mastering one character in VF. It's literally like mastering a martial art. when you first pick-up the control and mash the buttons around, you're only at the tip of the iceberg. A very technical game, but unlike VF4 Evo for PS2 (which I loved more than VF5 for this precise reason) it's more user-friendly for people that want to pick-up and play, however I liked the over-technical side to VF4 Evo. Want a beautiful looking fighting game. IMHO, go for this.
5) COD4 - Get it instead of any other shooter on the PS3; by far the best, great 4 player when you've got a few friends round, and online is beautiful. Story is great, although short. Buy it ASAP, especially if you're going online and want to get addicted to something (One of my good friends is the leader of a PS3 COD4 clan at the moment, Trickster [TKR] I think.)
6) Orange Box - A box of fun, nuff said.
7) Ninja Gaiden Sigma - A very nice game. Looks nice, lets you do cool ninja things that you've always wanted to do ever since you watched Ninja Scroll when you were 10, or any sort of super, samurai, ninja related thing. Everyone loves Ninjas, you can't deny it.
8) GRAW 2 - The graphics are nicely detailed, nice gizmos, great single player (If you've got it on PC though, then forget it).
9) Heavenly Sword - A quick fix of God of War style fighting and action gameplay, great graphics, just a little bit short. Rent it on a weekend when not much is going on and have a nice weekend in with this (you could probably clock it in a day if you wanted to).
10) Warhawk - Played it a little and it looks very nice. There aren't many fantastic games out at the moment, but there will be in 2008, believe me.

I don't agree completely with it, but it's fairly amusing, and the lyrics are pretty cool.Anger is a gift - Malcolm X

A little late on this thread, eh?

I hated Motorstorm and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.
I'm surprised you didn't add Resistance in there. That's a great game!!

You should check out Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. I was surprised how good this game was (although a tad short).

Re: So. I got a PlayStation 3.
Oh yes, Uncharted, thought I was forgetting something. Played the demo, and my cousins have got it and said it was amazing. I've only played a little of Resistance, and to be honest, I wasn't hugely impressed, but I put up the FPS to end all FPS's up in the form of COD4, and I don't think you need any others.
Yh a little late
, but I didn't discover the PS3 forums until recently
.
I'm personally a fan of Motorstorm, and I've only played the demo of Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and it was very entertaining, and has got good reviews.Anger is a gift - Malcolm X

Re: So. I got a PlayStation 3.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma is ridiculously hard and due to Rachel's velumtiousness, you'll feel guilty playing it in front of any sons/daugthers/mothers/fathers/girlfriends/and any of the neighborhood kids.
The Orange Box isn't worth it on the PS3 unless you can't get it on the PC. Team Fortress 2 is downright unplayable and all the achievements, and extra maps/mods are noticably lacking as well.
Resistance is a fun game. Single player not too impressive, but multiplayer is quite great and has a lot of potential.
Ratchet and Clank, surprised no one's said this. It's drop dead gorgeous, adds a lot to the series, fun for you and the kids.
I've still got to get Uncharted, might pick it up tommarow. Can't wait for Infamous...

Re: So. I got a PlayStation 3.
I haven't had the pleasure of coming across Ratchet and Clank too many times.
Uncharted is really amazing (IMHO, epsecially if you have a HD-TV and HDMI cable...just beautiful)
Infamous looks interesting...
This is what I'm waiting for:
MGS4
GTA 4
Devil May Cry 4
Army of 2
Frontlines: Fuel of War (probably getting this on PC but heard about it on PS3 first)
L.A. Noire
Final Fantasy XIII
The Club
Metal Gear Online
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2
Turok
FIFA Street 3
(Yup, I've got a notepad document of all the games I'm looking at, but there's so many that I needed to write them down somewhere
)

Re: So. I got a PlayStation 3.
Frontlines is rumoured to be either delayed or canceled on the PS3. Just a rumour.
