    Think we should wait till things sort out a bits. Got on at release. Bugged out... then ran across a bug that forced me to restart... sad thing was that the server was/is locked.

    Funny you start this thread, was coming to do the same.

    Radio - Not workable with VON. Too clunky, doesn't provide a very fluid system for leaders to use. I miss ACRE terribly.
    Command - Granted we just went live, but without organization its a lost cause and not very fun for those accustomed to playing ARMA. I'm sure those not accustomed to ARMA may think its just fine - but as one of the regular ARMA crowd, i assure you that a CO will be essential to playing this. Squad leaders will need to LEAD, and follow orders from CO too. This is NOT BF2.
    Gear/Equip - Back to the class based system -OK. I prefer ARMA the way it is, but this is the PR mod after all. Why such limited space in the ruck? Only holds a dozen mags or so.
    Server - Is going crazy (desync) with so many connections. Should consider password nights very soon.

    The Good:
    - New blood
    - New blood
    - New style of gameplay

    The not so:
    - Radio
    - Organization and Realism just aren't there (yet, i hope.)

    Overall:
    This mod is great in a lot of ways.... don't hate me... but I prefer ARMA with the current mods we have (Bravo server). Assuming I can still get a decent game going, I'll be sticking with Bravo (at least for a while longer.)

    I'm sure i'm overlooking A LOT. But this is my first crack playing, for sure the more i try it the more it could grow on me.... or not. Who knows.

    Yeah the HUGE demand is unprecedented. We have had to put up a second server, but sadly we have had to lock them. This is because people are trying to join without combined operations and with optional faces. And this is bad for the server to say the least. It's not like they had a 6 month warning on what they needed to do. Alas...........

    TG is currently stable at about 130 players, no-one else has been able to hold that many for so long. After the initial rush it will get easier, once people. Don't forget to report any issues/grievers etc. as you normally would, sadly there have been a few already, as can be expected.

    Any update when the server would be unlocked/passworded? Its killing me that a bug forced me to disconnect.

    Jump on TS mate and hit up an admin, or Xmaster is in a separate channel to. I am about, trying to deal with 15 things at once. Just ask him to open it for you!

    PR:Arma Feedback

    I really like it in the state that it is in, and knowing that it will only get better with time is something that boggles my mind. Just to note on a couple of things that I have noticed.

    - It is good to see two servers up as the lag from connects and disconnects was crazy, so that issue is solved

    - People have to remember that this is brand new to everyone and while they are trying to implement the Pr style of play from BF2, this is so different that it is night and day. It is a fantastically good different, but nonetheless, patience will be awarded greatly if you do that.

    - Sticking with direct is the best corse of action right now as everyone that is talking over one another is a little hard to here everything. So try and stick to direct and then if you have to spot something say it over group. I know that I will bind two keys for this. A direct talk like normal, and then one that I can switch between commander , vehicular and group.

    -All in all it has really surpassed what I thought it would be. yes there are some bugs and lack of transpo because everyone wants to try stuff out but I think after this mad rush, things will settle in and all ill be fine!!!

    Good points Jack. Comms will be addressed with the rule set we have until PR releases its own solution.

    Lag was caused by a few things. One was the sheer volume, when we opened server 2 it filled from 0 to 100 in less than 1 minute. I have never seen anything like it in my life. As such, many lesser servers fell over, lucky we have a beast! Another reason for crashes was griefing (please report as normal) and people not having ArmA installed (I know, crazy!). So once these minor issues are dealt with over the coming days this Beta will shine, and the future is rosy!

    I agree with Thirdsin.... One some of his points...

    I understand it is a new game and new people are showing up. They are excited for the new toy. But lack of professionalism is very frustrating. Soldiers are chatty when somebody is giving them some direction, even talking over the squad leader. When the SL finally had enough and disconnects, everybody becomes very quiet. Without realizing they are the cause of that individual leaving, they do it again. I did not SL today, but I saw this happen twice... ahahaha

    I remember we built our BF2 server under these circumstances. Pubbies, huge influx of players, and some core players who showed the way. We discover leaders from the crowd and they take over. I think now we need some core players to step up show the mass the light of ARMA engine.

    Oh one more thing Arma VON is very delicate. I realize they comes from different VOIP system. Try not to talk over each other and know your default channel. The less people you annoy, the better. Vehicle and Direct channel are the ones you wanna be in most of the time unless leading. Leads must dominate Group channel. Commander must dominate Command channel.

    What most do not realize is how much chatter is in SL's head. They receive two chatter traffic.

    Ok I rambled enough. But my rambling is based on what I saw today. It is the first day, so it is expected. Hopefully we will grow together as a community.

    I would like to add one more thing. Things are spread out over great distances in the mission that I played, as such it is not your normal 30 second ride that some are used to. The use of tactics is going to be huge in this game and squad maneuvering is going to be a must. There is a lot of stuff at the hands of the SL and it is going to take a little getting used to as he can give all sorts of orders and way-points! Try and stick with your team and when you spawn in try and use text to ask what to do, it may take a couple extra seconds, but those extra seconds will inturn yield better success!!!


    Again, I hate that I am going fishing across the state while this dropped, but nonetheless this is what I have been waiting for......HELL YA!!!

    hello guys, I manage to join the server earlier but was unplayable, now I cant join TG servers cause they are locked, you guys plan on giving the password or only supporting members are able to join right now?
