Discussion: Project Reality / PR:ArmA - Pr arma server - back in business - Thanks for your investigation as well everyone, it is detailed information like this that will
Another little detail... This problem is not only apparent in TG PR server. TG Alpha and TG Bravo Arma servers have been sufferring from the same symptoms as well (move fast in Arma world and lose connection since server cannot keep up with client's movement).
Some possibilities:
1. The three server installations share the same configuration which one of the parameters is not set optimally.
2. The latest patch to the servers were applied incorrectly? (unlikely since we had days of uninterrupted game-play after patch).
3. if the three servers share one machine, something is defective on the hardware side? (memory stick gone bad?)
4. A virus is eating up resources. (I just think so, because this started happening after a very coordinated attack on all resources of TG. (web, TS, servers.))
Sorry, these are just guesses, which probably you have already thought of... Alpha and Bravo server communities are also restless and server-less. If one becomes okay, the rest also should. We wanna help. Good luck. You can fix it...
Fun, fun and more fun. But do not be selfish. Provide some fun and you will receive some fun.
We are investigating several possibilities and will keep you updated as to the progress. Once again apologies for the down time, this is clearly far from an ideal situation and we currently have both the Arma and PR:Arma admins working to get this corrected as soon as possible.
The best way to help is to continue to provide us with detailed info on when exactly you are experiencing desync / disconnects, this has proven useful in the process of narrowing down the possibilities.
Thanks for all your work on this Wicks and the rest of the team. Much appreciated.
I've just played for about 2 hours. The TG server seems to be running well.
Reached as many as 46 players before I left: http://arma2.swec.se/game/data/4395891
I consistently kept getting red chains when peoe joined or left in my play season recently today. Played for about an hour to hour and a half. Happened the whole time, but it did not drops me. Felt good to play again.

I noticed that a while back as soon as 1.60 final came out but it had no noticeable impact on gameplay so I disregard it.
Yeah great to be back in the saddle again.
Going from 5 days of zero population to 46 players in one day is the hallmark of something special

I think it attests to what TG and it's primer stands for and the level of play we expect. . As well as what you said!!!

Server works fine, but this mod still has some bugs. Like today I lost my squad leading abilities and could not reload. Had to leave server and come back to get it fixed.

60 players today! Its like the downtime never happened Personally I prefer 60 to 80 anyway. Less lag and more assets.
There's a bug ticket already for the reload bug Joku. So, that's known and they're working on it. The Squad Leader one has happened to me too but I dont know if theres a ticket for it. I dont know how to reproduce it and its not too common.
Anyway, server hasnt crashed once in the 6 hours I have been playing since she came back up again
This is great feedback chaps and much appreciated. When I log in and see 60 people playing on the second day of normal service, well, it makes it all worthwhile (dabs moisture from eye, an old war wound to the tear duct, 50cal clipped me lol).
Lets see if we can hit the big 100 again soon, I am going to be dragging people on to the server this week kicking and screaming.
The server crashed during this game: http://arma2.swec.se/game/data/4404609
With the red-chain and "No message received for 65 seconds" etc
It was only that 1 crash experienced at the end of (at least) 3 hours of gameplay. And as I said before, no other crashes during the previous 6 hours I played on other days. So, still very stable. Just FYI.
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
