Yea, I read the same FM back in SLC at Knox, its also covered under 17-15.

In reality, if you ever see a fast mover, its waaaaaaaaaay too late, the munitions are on its way.

The 25mm and the .50cal has an effective range far below that of modern SACLOS and Milimetric Radar guided munitions. There will be nothing to shoot at. And sinc emost attacks happen at night, you wont see anything neither.

Truth is, since the ADA branch is getting "down-sized", if ever the fighter jocks slip up................ we are toast.

Better count our blessings that we are fighting some half-ass 5th rate powers. If ever we fight some one like Germany, China or even DPRK, you'd see some pretty scary casualty numbers.

Sigh...........the best ways to win wars is not to fight them.
Power may grow from the barrel of a gun, but control....... stems from the 1st and the 15th.

I've noticed few people use vehicle-mounted machine guns to try and take down helis.
I've been having a lot of success with this lately. Those .50 cals can really do some big damage if you keep firing steadily (i.e., without overheating). As mentioned you are a sitting duck in the vehicles, but I try to open fire when the helicopter has just made a pass or is otherwise distracted to buy some extra time.

It also does a great job on infantry.

    Heli hunting

I have to admit i like to hunt a heli evrynow and then but you have to know when to run. Its all good fun shooting your clips at them untill they have you in there sight. Once they have you in there sight best bet is not to run in the other direction or fight but to try and run straight towards them and under them or its time to abandon ship and get the hexk out of there.

I have to admit that the stingers don't work so well. Not even the rocket off the main boat have a chance unless your comming for a bombing run.
Heck i just fly aroudn the rockets teasing the people until they give up.
I was flying round the boat gunning down people whilst doging the rockets from the main gun. In the end he gave up got out and was trying to shoot me with his gun! Lol even that was more effective.

Thread necromancy ftw. I thought those "football field" diagrams looked familiar.
