Re: C-Team Barrack
Cool. If we can get a couple of Relay volunteers, it shouldn't be a big deal to get this going. We'll get them set up with Teamspeak, and then you and Cymba can have at it!

Re: C-Team Barrack
SIMPLE AND ADVANCED GAME MODES
=========================
Tonight I played for a while on server 1 and here some some comments I wanted to share with you guys;
I joined Kojio's Carebears Squad. very nice guys... I had great time. they did a variety of things (blackhawk thingy, defense, attack, etc)
they havent used fire teams, formations or detailed tactics in the game. squad sticked together and followed the team leader. Kojio was very nicely setting the approach paths to target flag and when necessary assigning kits. It was simple, fast, quite successful and a fun game...
Now what I am trying to get at?
When we were starting the C-Team, there was only one thing in my mind: to use military tactics within the game. We did a lot of thinking, planning and practice. Things are going great so far...
Do I want to give up? HELL NO ! But I want to add some spice by suggesting a second type of gameplay for C-Team squad: "simple mode"
NOT as a replacement of how we played so far but as a variety factor...
In this mode, we just take it easy. SL leads the team primarily using waypoints, all squad members stick together and, SL use very basic commands like "squad we will use armors and transport now"...
this was what Hawtalta said before which was also agreed by Strag and Sabre as an optional gameplay.
In the "advanced mode", on the other hand, we become virtual soldiers. take it very serious and continue our training. study this thing as if it is a "college lecture" (this one was for you Rizzo
)
learn from the experiences of ex-military folks among us like Sabre and Budahman...
Battlefield 2 vanilla (until realism mods come out) is designed for "simple mode". There is not a big penalty for getting killed: Medic's magic pads, squad leader spawn, short respawn time, etc...There is not an incentive to push the players towards more careful, serious or planned playing. Is this bad? of course not. but sometimes, some of us desire more than this.
I remember how things had changed dramatically when the Forgotten Hope for battlefield 1942 hit the surface. I never played vanilla version again, never...
Conclusion: Depending on our mood or weekly basis, we can play the battlefield 2 in two modes: "simple" and "advanced"
The rewards of playing the game in "advanced mode" will be more apparent when realism mods for BF2 or games like "Operation Flashpoint 2" comes out. Until then we can still enjoy "military role playing" experience in vanilla version...

Re: C-Team Barrack
if we start something too complicated right off the bat, we will lose some interested people

Re: C-Team Barrack
Oh! I kept bumping into you while I was on defense so I told my squad, which included Stavros and a couple other guys that "Yo, I think C-Team wants this flag, brace yourselves..."

Strag, I'm usually the one constant, my gunners vary so I guess I'll be the relay.

Definitely true, and I'm sure we don't want to scare anyone off. So if you're up for some fun squad play, just join up with C-Team and enjoy yourself as normal -- you don't have to use Teamspeak or anything like that. The Relay stuff will be going on behind the scenes and won't interfere with the action!
