thank you Tempus. please feel free to join discussions whenever you want...

    Strag and Drunkensoul,

I will join our ongoing discussion soon. to express myself clearly, I will suggest a description and responsibility for each role in our role-playing game (SL, FL, FM)

And in the mean time please check and let me know what you think about:

Near Future of Organized Game Play on TG
    http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlefield-2-ranked-vanilla/56660-near-future-organized-game-play-tg.html

I proposed this to solve the problem of finding a guaranteed spot in a good squad and game...

    Talking Re: C-Team Barrack

First time poster, this C-team style is wxactly what i'm looking for in BF2. I will try and login your server and join up.

Do you use the built in VOIP or teamspeak/ventrillo?

I mostly play support. I jump to sniper or AT to counter a specific threat.

look for me in game as Budahman and xfire as Budah (if i remeber my username right, they are always a variation of Buddha)

Squad Tip: map the pgup key & push to talk button to your mouse. (If you have a mouse with more than two buttons)

Can a beginner join? I'm not terrible, just hate playing the pubs where my own SL ditches me every time.

Welcome Budahman! We all use in-game voip. See you in the server.

of course. it is not the skill we are seeking, it is the gamestyle. you can have an idea how we are playing from the posts in this thread. right now, we are trying to solve the problem of how we are going to meet in the same squad. I will always post the meeting times here and PM all interested players...

Another thought -- if C-Team grows beyond five or six guys who show up regularly, maybe we should consider how to handle a second squad on the same server(?). That way, more than six guys can get the C-Team experience on a given night.
you are not wrong Strag. before giving it a good shot in the squad, I dont want to eliminate this class. and I am glad to see some interested players listing support as one of their preferred classes.

totally agree. members interested in C-Team gaming style are welcome to start the second squad (maybe C-TeamII) after we finish and post C-Team Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). I am still working on it and will post it soon. after taking feedback from you guys, we can make necessary changes and finish it. This will guarantee that all squads with the C-Team name applies the same SOP and offers very identical gameplay experience.

this is a draft and will need lots of editing. feel free to provide feedback

    C-TEAM PROFILE and SOP
    ================

    Welcome to the C-Team !

    SQUAD PROFILE
    ------------------

    - We are a group of like-minded mature players.
    - Our gaming style is military role-playing. There is not a permanent ranking system in our squad. If you wish you can change roles (squad leader (SL), fire team leader (FL), fire team member) and classes (assault, medic, etc) by request to keep the game interesting and fun.
    - We often play in a serious way to simulate military experience
    - Members know their role/class responsibilities and try their best to perform assigned duties
    - We respect each other and follow the orders of squad and fire team leader
    - There is always a freedom to suggest rules, procedures and tactics
    - We try to develop a very simple but efficient squad management system.
    - Our goals are;
o Primary: Teamwork (organized and coordinated gameplay)
o Secondary: To win the game

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF ROLES AND CLASSES
    --------------------------------------------------

Every member has defined assignments during attack, defense and maneuver actions depending on his/her role and class. It is up to the member’s discretion how to perform these functions unless there is a direct order (Ex. Special forces class decides the strategic points to place C4 explosives). This system makes the SL/FL’s job easier, eliminates the micromanegement and keeps things simple.

    // Roles \\

    Squad Leader (SL)
    - communicates with the commander
    - assigns fire team types
    - sets defensive and offensive positions of fire teams
    - coordinates the fire teams

    Fire Team Leader (FL)
    - decides how to execute the SL orders (direction of attack, use of grenades and smoke, etc)
    - if needed, gives orders to the member(s) of his/her fire team.

    Fire Team Member (FM)
    - always follows fire team leader

// Classes \\ (not completed yet)

    Assault
    - attack/defense: use grenades and smoke, especially during flag zone attacks

    Support
    - attack: use the strength of you gun and prefer close quarters battle within flag capture zone
    - defense: 1) stick to special forces class until he is done with C4 placements 2) check other team members for their ammo needs

    Special Forces
    - attack: sneak into flag zone and take out enemy armor using C4s
    - defense: 1) place C4s on flag entrance points 2) 2) hide, watch and detonate to stop incoming threat

    SQUAD STRUCTURE
    -------------------

We define fire team as the smallest functional unit in Battlefield 2 (Army > Squad > Fire Team). In order to keep fire team members together, we follow a simple rule: “Fire team member(s) always follow the fire team leader”

    // Fire Teams \\

Alpha: fire team leader and member
Bravo: fire team leader and member
    Charlie: squad leader and member

    //Fire Team Types\\

Squad leader assigns the fire team types depending on the situation (map, capture point, mission and enemy). Squad can be formed from any combination of the following fire team types.

Infantry Fire Team (with the most commonly used class assignments)
    - setup 1: fire team leader (assault), member (support/anti-tank)
    - setup 2: fire team leader (special forces), member (support)

Armor Fire Team (APC or Tank or Mobile AA)
    - setup: fire team leader (engineer), member (anti-tank)

    Air Fire Team (Attack Chopper)
    - setup: fire team leader (engineer), member (anti-tank) in attack chopper

    VOIP COMMUNICATION
    ----------------------

    - Please remember that one of the primary goals of our group is the “military role-playing” experience. We often take it serious to create an immersive and realistic military atmosphere. This doesn’t mean that jokes are not welcome, just try to make a good balance between serious playing and jokes. Radio is primarily SL’s tool and when he requests you to kill radio comm., do so ! He needs the radio to communicate with the commander and coordinate the fire teams.

    - use the VOIP efficiently, learn short and clear order/report language.

    - spot enemy using commo rose. Use VOIP only to report immediate threats like a buggy running into the flag zone.

    Examples:

    Squad Leader
    - “Squad regroup on my position”
    - “Team Alpha, take the lead, Team Bravo follow my lead”

    Fire Team Leader
    - “Alpha take the left flank” (notice the difference between formats to differentiate between a SL and FL given orders)

    MISSION PREFERENCE
    --------------------------

C-Team accepts any type of mission (attack, defense, demolition, repair, etc) assigned by the CO.

We are quite flexible due to our structural organization (fire teams) and we can very quickly split and perform upto three different simultaneous operation throughout the map.

    MEETING TIME AND PROCEDURE
    ------------------------------

Meeting date/time and agenda will be posted before the game.

Regular: Mon and Thu, 0900 pm – 0100 am EST
    Extra: weekdays 1000 pm – 0100 am EST, weekend 0200 pm - 0500 pm

    - Unfortunately it is difficult to get into the same squad whenever we want. Server may be full, autobalance may not allow you to change your team and finally all 6 positions of the squad might have been filled. We will try to find a solution for this. Please don’t feel any obligation to join the squad when invited. If you are comfortable in your current squad just reject my invitation.

    REGULAR MEMBERS (will be updated)
    -------------------

This is a list of like-minded players who enjoy to play in C-Team when there is an available position. There is NOT a commitment requirement to be a regular member. C-Team is just one of the several Tactical Gamer squads that you might join for an organized and coordinated team game.

    Re: C-Team Barrack

Hey guys. I had the great pleasure of playing with some of you on the Sharqui Peninsula map the other night and it was some of the best fun I've had playing BF2. I got disconnected and by the time I got back on the server, I ended up on the other team on Clean Sweep. The squad I was in was attacking the NW flag and I noticed the squad defending the flag was nicely spread out. Then after a couple kills (before my squad was picked apart) I saw names I recognized and realized it was C-Team defending and I told my SL that unless we had a plan there was no way were going to take it. And he kept saying "All we need is to stick together and make a good push" and I just laughed. He eventually gave up.

Anyway, I'd love to play with you guys again. I'm an average player but I'm comfortable playing any class needed and I'm all about great squad play. I especially like Alpha/Bravo setup. So sign me up if you don't mind. My xfire ID is hephador. Hope to play with you guys again soon.

I will always do my best NOT to leave anyone behind, All for one and one for All

lets see, if Israel is EST + 8 hrs then the best time for you and for us seems to be afternoon here.

Then for members like you we can fix a meeting time ~ 1400 (0200 pm) on weekend.

    would it work for you?
